Joint Prayer and Temple Cleaning in the Framework of World Heritage Day 2018

Commemorating World Heritage Day 2018, Head of Sidhayatra Group Yoko Firmansyah, "I strongly support the government's efforts to preserve cultural heritage"

Commemorating World Heritage Day 2018, the Central Java Cultural Heritage Conservation Center held various events. On Friday, April 13, 2018, a Joint Prayer and Temple Cleaning event was held, then on April 18, 2018, a 2018 World Heritage Day Roll Call event and a World Heritage Day Campaign will be held through watching the film "Monu Agung di Lembah Para Dewa" together, a joint broadcast on Radio TWC and a talk show with high school students around Prambanan.

In today's Joint Prayer and Temple Cleaning activity, BPCB Central Java invited Buddhists from the Sidhayatra Group. Head of the Sidhayatra Group, Yoko Firmansyah, welcomed what BPCB Central Java had done.

“We from the Sidhayatra group indeed visit temples every year to perform rituals. We have a goal to re-sacralize the temples in our country, especially in Central Java. I am very happy that today the BPCB leadership invited us, and we enthusiastically help with the activities on this World Heritage Day. It is also our duty as Buddhists to guard and be responsible for preserving the temples left by our ancestors, both from Hinduism and Buddhism,” said Yoko Firmansyah.

Yoko Firmansyah also greatly appreciates the efforts made by the Central Java BPCB in preserving this World Heritage.

"If you look at the efforts that have been made by BPCB in its efforts to preserve this cultural heritage, it is very good. I really support it. Hopefully in the next few years it can return to its original state, although not completely, but it can restore its former form. I see that the government really wants these temples to be restored to their original state soon," added Yoko Firmansyah.
