PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) in collaboration with Bank Rakyat Indonesia held an event titled BRI Prioritas Mahakarya Borobudur 2018 Indonesia Berkain which was held at Aksobya Field, Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur Complex, Magelang, Central Java. The event which took place magnificently was so lively, not only in the form of a batik fashion show, but also a collaboration in the field of art. There were theater, music, visual arts that were collaborated to display the beauty of Indonesian batik.
"Alhamdulillah, tonight we can gather together in the courtyard of Borobudur Temple, which is a masterpiece of our ancestors that has existed since the 7th and 8th centuries. This is a work of the nation that tonight we try to appreciate by also presenting masterpieces from today's children of the nation, inspired by the reliefs in Borobudur Temple. Hopefully, this masterpiece performance can be an inspiration for the birth of other works of the nation's children that also have the same great value, as high as the value of the existence of Borobudur Temple. "Thus conveyed by the President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono.
"The Borobudur Masterpiece Performance is organized by PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) which is fully supported by Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk, many thanks to BRI management especially to BRI Prioritas who also care about preserving our nation's culture." Added Edy Setijono.
Expert Staff of the Minister for Multicultural Affairs of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia Esthy Reko Astuti said, "The connection with the Borobudur Masterpiece is in the framework of World Heritage Day and we are in Borobudur which is also one of the World Culture Heritage from Unesco and the theme is also collaborated with batik which is also one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage given by Unesco and the theme was made Indonesia Berkain because it also coincidentally relates to Kartini Day. So this is a moment that is packaged into an event by TWC and BRI and we from the Ministry of Tourism strongly support this as an interesting event and it is hoped that it will attract tourists to visit. "
"We know that Borobudur is one of the 10 priority destinations and this was also chosen by BRI in the launch of its card, one of which is Borobudur and Borobudur is a priority destination for tourism development and we are very concerned about the development of Borobudur.
We have been targeted by the President until 2018 tourist visits of 17 million. 2019 of 20 million foreign tourists. For domestic tourists, there were 270 million movements in 2018 and 275 movements in 2019. It is hoped that Borobudur as one of the priority destinations and one of the main destinations, the target of 2 million tourist visits in 2019 can be achieved.
