3rd Borobudur International Conference, "Borobudur as an Inspiration of Humanity and Civilization"

The 3rd Borobudur International Conference will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 in Borobudur. Ahead of the event, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, the event's main speaker, Dagri Rinpoche, visited the Head Office of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero). The group was received by the President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono.

“Dagri Rinpoche this time is his second presence which is very special because it is not easy to bring him to visit, especially this is the second time. He is present because he will be the main speaker in the third Borobudur International Conference which we will hold on May 4, 2018 tomorrow. He will deliver a message that we have discussed with him since a year ago that for this year, if last year the theme of the Borobudur International Conference was Borobudur for Peace and Harmony, this year we will improve again that Peace and Harmony must also be based on an understanding of the concept of Humanity and Civilization. That is the theme that we take in the Borobudur International Conference this year.” Said Edy Setijono.

Furthermore, Edy Setijono said, "He also conveyed a message regarding the letter that we have sent to the Private Office of His Holynest Dalai Lama. Indeed, we hope that the Holynest Dalai Lama can come to Indonesia, especially to Borobudur, to convey the messages of peace. We hope that more world figures who care about world peace will come to Borobudur to convey messages that we hope can also be a trigger for countries around the world to maintain peace.

Edy Setijono hopes that with the presence of world figures, the resonance of the message conveyed will be very broad.

"It is important for us to be able to present world figures because through them the messages that we hope can be delivered and the resonance will be very broad. For example, the presence of former President Barack Obama. We told him that our message in 2017, Borobudur is voicing about tolerance and so on. That message was then conveyed again by Barrack Obama and its resonance immediately expanded." He said.

"We need to build our sense of humanity among each other based on the various civilizations formed between nations. And it is hoped that this can be voiced by world figures. We hope that through this Dagri Rinpoche, the Holynest Dalai Lama can be present to convey these messages. We hope that there are other world figures that we can invite to Borobudur," Edy Setijono hoped.
