The Coronation of Dimas Diajeng Sleman 2018 in Prambanan Went Well

The coronation of Dimas Diajeng Sleman 2018 has taken place in Open Air Theater Ramayana Ballet Prambanan on Saturday (11/5). This event crowned Dimas Afian Rulyana Arbi and Diajeng Erina Sofia Gudono as Dimas Diajeng Sleman 2018.

Dimas Afian is listed as an active student at the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University. Diajeng Erina herself is listed as a student at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University.

In this event, Dimas Aloysius Gonzaga and Diajeng Ni Putu Melinda were selected as the talented Dimas and Diajeng of Sleman. In addition, there were also Dimas Budi Sulistomo and Diajeng Agni Agrasevy as the favorite Dimas and Diajeng. The second runner-up of Dimas Diajeng Sleman went to Dimas Heriyanto and Diajeng Athreeanisa Sultanin. The first runner-up was Dimas Waldi and Diajeng Maria Di Livia Kusumamurti. The second runner-up was Dimas Nurdin Windratmadja and Diajeng Kanesa Permata Putri. The first runner-up was Dimas Wendy Irawan and Diajeng Shania Binti Mahir Hamdun.

The selection, judging, and quarantine process has been carried out since January 2018, since 30 finalists were finished being filtered. One of the judges on the Grand Final night was Condroyono, a senior cultural figure. The awarding of prizes was by the Deputy Regent of Sleman, Sri Muslimatun.

A series of events filled the schedule of this coronation night. Among others, Jathilan performances with a modern touch, combined with fire dance. Another interesting performance was a dance performance by finalist Dimas Diajeng Sleman 2018.

Nila Rosinta directed this dance. The movements in this dance symbolize Sleman which is cultured, has diverse arts, and friendly people. Nila Rosinta collaborated with Choreographers Irma Indriyani, Bening Krisnasari, and Rada Ruri.

The Regent of Sleman, Sri Purnomo, in his message delivered by the Deputy Regent of Sleman, Sri Mustiatun, expressed his hope that Dimas Diajeng could provide encouragement in terms of introducing Sleman's potential in the tourism, culture, economy and education sectors.

Dimas-Diajeng will also become Tourism Ambassadors and Development Ambassadors of Sleman. They have a two-year term of office to promote tourism.

Head of Sleman Tourism Office, Suharningsih, stated, “The selected Dimas-Diajeng Sleman will later become Tourism Ambassadors and Development Ambassadors of Sleman. It is hoped that they will be able to provide positive inspiration to other young generations.”
