35 Students Pass Selection, Represent Central Java to Students Get to Know the Archipelago

 

A total of 35 student representatives from schools in the Regency and City of Central Java Province have passed the selection for the BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri Program, namely the 2018 Students Getting to Know the Archipelago program, which will later carry out a student exchange to Kalimantan.

The selection event centered in the city of Semarang is a BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri, Siswa Mengenal Nusantara (SMN) Program, which aims to instill a sense of pride as a nation that has the diversity of the riches of the archipelago, through the process of exchanging information and culture.

This program is also a synergy between state-owned enterprises, one of which is PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko, which also participates in and supports the Siswa Mengenal Nusantara program.

TWC PKBL Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy who was present on the occasion said that the selection of Students Getting to Know the Archipelago was a stage to determine and be selected after the written essay test process, working on questions accommodated by the Ministry of Education and finally an interview at the final stage so that 2 students were selected who would depart for West Kalimantan Province.

Meanwhile, in his speech, Agus Supriyono, VP CSR KAI, who represented the BUMNs participating in this program, expressed his gratitude to the team from the Central Java Education and Culture Office who helped the selection activities for students to get to know the Archipelago in 2018 in Central Java Province run smoothly.

The hope is that what is aimed at by representing 35 districts and cities for the past two days has been implemented until today, and has resulted in 35 students who meet expectations.

The results of the selection carried out are in accordance with regulations, existing requirements are attempted to be as optimal as possible and it is hoped that in the future what has been produced will also bring a good name to Central Java.

The Head of the Education and Culture Office of Central Java Province, represented by Sulistyono, Head of the Vocational School Division, said that this selection was truly objective and impartial, regardless of who they were from any school.

The Department of Education and Culture of Central Java Province always has a commitment to strive not to be the best but to strive to be good because it is aware that currently there are 235 State Vocational Schools and 1348 Private Vocational Schools, while State Senior High Schools have 360-240 Private Senior High Schools.

Sulistyono further emphasized to his students, "Show your different characters, character is important, show your school, I am the best, I must be able to change this system, I must be able to show that I am the best in the environment.

Huda, one of the students who passed the selection, felt very proud to be able to take part in the selection program for students getting to know the Archipelago in 2018, Central Java, to be able to get a new family, new friends, and broad insight about the regions from other friends.

Later, Huda will introduce Javanese regional songs and Central Javanese culture, especially during the student exchange in Kalimantan.

According to Huda, the Students Getting to Know the Archipelago program is very necessary and needs to be continued in the future because this program is very helpful and can provide opportunities for students, other students, especially those who are less able to get to know other cultures, to get to know the culture in their own region and this program is very good.
