PT TWC Supports the Development of Tourism in Karangbolong, Kebumen
The Village Economic Center (Balkondes) which has now developed in Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java, has become a driving force for the village economy. The program supported by the Ministry of SOEs encourages community welfare with various existing potentials.
The Balkondes program is a separate program for other villages to develop local potential. The existence of Balkondes is considered to be able to help boost the economy of residents and build sustainable tourism.
This was conveyed by the Head of Karangbolong Village, Kebumen, Central Java, Pasiman, in front of the President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono and his entourage while reviewing the Karangbolong tourist area, Sunday (14/9/2020).
“Since our visit to Balkondes Borobudur a few months ago, we here have become very interested in creating Balkondes. In our opinion, Balkondes can be a driving force for the tourism potential that we have here. We want to develop that potential. Hopefully we can work together to build this Balkondes,” Pasiman explained.
President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono reminded that in developing a tourism area, a clear vision for the future needs to be formed. This requires careful planning.
“This process must be prepared step by step. I see that something positive has been done by conducting a comparative study to Borobudur. This is a start, that if we want to pursue something, what is this thing like so that we can really understand and comprehend so that we can realize it. The Karangbolong community must be grateful that the community has a very high leadership element. This is the main capital. With the existing potential, Karangbolong has the opportunity to advance further.” Said Edy Setijono.
In this event, PT TWC also handed over two portable hand washing machines as a form of support to Karangbolong tourism managers in implementing health protocols to create a safe tourist attraction for visiting tourists.
“PT TWC was appointed as the coordinator of the DIY Covid-19 Handling Task Force from the Ministry of SOEs inviting tourism managers to create destinations that are ready for safe tourism. If we implement the protocol, then this destination will be safe. If it is safe, people will visit. If the protocol enforcement is not good, tourists will be reluctant to come. We will create a protocol together here. That Karangbolong is a destination ready for safe tourism.” He continued.
In addition to visiting Karangbolong Beach as the main destination, the group consisting of PT TWC Corporate Secretary Emilia Eny Utari, Head of the DIY Provincial BUMN Task Force Putro Lelono and Director of PT CBT Nusantara Management Jatmika Budi Santoso visited Bukit Hud, Goa Karangbolong and Tebing Pamuran. The event was also entertained by the performance of tayuban art and kuda lumping art from the Turonggo Sekar Budoyo Asih group.
