IIP BUMN & IIKK PT TWC'S GARBAGE CLEAN UP ACTION

The Association of Wives of BUMN DIY Leaders (IIP) together with the Association of Wives of Employees (IIKK) of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) through the Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL) carried out waste collection and sorting in the Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur area, Friday (18/9/2020). This activity was carried out in commemoration of World Clean Up Day (WCD) which was carried out simultaneously throughout the world on September 19, 2020. ⁣
Head of IIP BUMN DIY Heriyanti Suzana Edy Setijono said that through WCD Indonesia, she invited the wider community to be more concerned about waste generated from residents' consumption, especially inorganic waste and plastic waste. Waste is a common problem that must be supported by all parties, both the government and the community. ⁣
"Indonesia is one of the largest contributors of plastic waste in the world. In this year's WCDI, we want to raise awareness of the importance of waste management, especially plastic waste, and increase public awareness to reduce and stop the use of plastic products. We do this by collecting and sorting waste," said Heriyanti Suzana. ⁣
In this WCDI activity, President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono symbolically handed over assistance in the form of 10 trash bins to the Mandala Borobudur Asri Waste Bank in Ngaran Borobudur Hamlet. This assistance is a form of support for the existence of the Waste Bank which can reduce the rate of inorganic waste and can improve the economy of residents through a good waste sorting and recycling program. ⁣
"This WCD moment is a momentum to socialize waste management. We want the public to be more aware of managing waste more wisely. The use of recycled waste also needs to be socialized more often because in addition to reducing waste that is thrown away, it can also improve the economy of residents. The Waste Bank is the main guard in carrying out the sorting and recycling functions." Said Edy Setijono. ⁣
