Director General of Culture Supports Integrated Management of Borobudur Area

Director General of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture Hilmar Farid visited the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park, Thursday (4/2/2021). His visit was part of the preparation for the Borobudur integrated management plan.

"Earlier we saw the facilities here. We are preparing an integrated plan for the management of Borobudur," Hilmar Farid explained after reviewing the foreign tourist ticket area in Borobudur.

Previously, the group consisting of several parties such as the Borobudur Conservation Center and the Directorate General. Cipta Karya. The Central Java Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center visited several locations in the Borobudur TWC area, such as Manohara Borobudur, Concourse Borobudur, Bukit Dagi, Samudra Raksa, Borobudur Museum and the Foreign Tourist Entrance.

At Manohara Borobudur, Hilmar Farid heard an explanation from the President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono regarding the development of the Borobudur Study Center (BSC) project which is still ongoing.

In addition, Hilmar Farid also reviewed the Borobudur Concourse area which according to the PUPR Ministry will be widened in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.

In the foreign tourist ticket area, PT TWC also showed the digital ticket system integration process, where foreign tourists who will enter Borobudur will be directly recorded through the existing system. In addition, PT TWC also optimizes the non-cash payment system and is integrated with destinations in the Joglosemar area.

"We have seen the achievements and the problems. Of course we are ready to work together with PT TWC in developing the Borobudur destination to be better as a world heritage site," Hilmar continued.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono welcomed the support from the Director General of Culture. "We fully support it. We will contribute to the planning in our region. We can decide together to implement the best formulation that can accommodate Borobudur as this super priority destination," he explained.
