PT TWC Wins Three Awards at TOP Business Awards 2021
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) successfully won three TOP CSR Awards 2021 held by TOP Business magazine in Jakarta, Thursday (22/4/2021).
PT TWC successfully won awards in the TOP CSR Awards 2020 3 Star category, TOP Leader on CSR Commitment 2021 which was won by PT TWC President Director Edy Setijono and the Special Category Award in the Balkondes Tourism Destination Development Program in Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java.
This award was received directly by TJSL & SME Founding Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy and Corcomm & Stakeholder Relation Assistant Manager
Frieska J Puteri at Dian Ballroom Hotel Raffles Jakarta. This year's award is the fifth award since PT TWC's participation in this event since 2017.
"This award is one of the valuable appreciations and becomes a spirit for PT TWC to continue to spread benefits and provide the best for the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program in the community. We are committed to continuing to develop this program to participate in realizing sustainable development," explained TJSL & SME Founding Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy.
The TJSL program of PT TWC itself is run with the principle of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and also adopts Creating Shared Value (CSV). For TWC, the company's responsibility is not just carrying out social programs or concerns, but also its CSR program in accordance with the company's steps.
One of them is the development of the Village Economic Center (Balkondes) in Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java. The Balkondes program received a Special Category Award from the 2021 TOP Business Awards.
PT TWC as a BUMN in the tourism sector is one of the initiators of the establishment of Balkondes which is managed by villages in the Borobudur area. Through Balkondes, residents can be directly involved in the Borobudur tourism ecosystem and enjoy the results.
"As a village showcase, Balkondes and its homestays are the beginning of an economic chain, a small river that joins to a large river, namely Borobudur Temple. One of them is Balkondes in Ngaran, Borobudur which is fostered by PT TWC," he continued.
Corcomm & Stakeholder Relation Assistant Manager Frieska J. Puteri added that the development of Balkondes remains in line with the company's own business development. PT TWC also synergizes and offers a tour package program that is aligned with the use of homestay services around Borobudur.
"There are special packages to be able to enter the homestay in Balkondes which are in 20 villages in the form of tour packages, for example the VW Package, which uses a VW safari tour car around Balkondes. There are also Andong Packages, Village Tour Packages and others. So we synergize all of that for our business strategy," he explained.
In addition to Balkondes, PT TWC is developing other programs, such as empowering housewives in Sleman, Yogyakarta and Magelang, Central Java, as well as the Creative Student program, Organic Plant Cultivation, and e-Balita program.
TOP CSR Awards 2021 is an awarding event for companies that are considered successful in implementing effective, quality and sustainable CSR programs. This year, TOP CSR Awards 2021 carries the theme of the Strategic Role of CSR in National Economic Recovery in the New Normal Era.
