TJSL PT TWC Inaugurates Construction of Livable Houses in Sleman Yogyakarta
Corporate Secretary of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Emilia Eny Utari together with TJSL & SME Founding Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy symbolically handed over the keys to the house belonging to Endri Handoko (39 years old) at the inauguration of the Construction of Uninhabitable Houses (RTLH) in Dukuh Ngredi, Sindumartani Village, Ngemplak Sub-district, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Thursday (29/4/2021).
The development of RTLH in PT TWC's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program is an implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) values to participate in poverty alleviation in the community.
"Of course, we as destination managers and state-owned companies will not turn a blind eye to the condition of the surrounding environment. We will continue to help as much as we can to participate in advancing the surrounding community," said Emilia Eny Utari.
The development of RTLH is a collaborative program between PT TWC and the village government and surrounding communities in an effort to eradicate poverty, especially in creating decent housing to live in. "We would like to express our gratitude for the cooperation with all of you. Without the cooperation of all parties, of course this program will not run well," continued Emilia.
Sindumartani Village Head Anang Zamroni appreciates this PT TWC program. He hopes that through this program he can participate in the government's efforts to eradicate poverty in the community.
"We, on behalf of the Sindumartani village community, express our gratitude for this assistance. PT TWC has implemented the CSR program to the community well and can be realized. This certainly helps the government to help eradicate poverty and provide benefits to many residents," he said.
The Head of Sindumartani Village also expressed his desire to continue collaborating with PT TWC in this RTLH program, considering that in his village there are still many families who have uninhabitable houses.
"We recorded that there are 170 or so houses that are categorized as uninhabitable. Hopefully in the future we can coordinate directly with the village government to select residents who are in great need. Our homework as the government is to realize habitable houses," he said.
Meanwhile, Endri Handoko looked radiant after receiving the keys to his new house. Together with his wife and three children and a grandchild, Endri could not hide his happiness because he had a decent house, as he had dreamed of for a long time.
"For more than 12 years living in that simple house. There is a desire to live properly, but we also remember our capabilities. Alhamdulillah, this year it turns out that this long-standing dream can come true with the help of PT TWC," he said.
Previously, Endri Handoko with his wife, four children and grandchildren occupied a very simple house. With a dirt floor and woven bamboo walls, they occupied a room attached to the back of Endri Handoko's parents' residence.
"We plan to move during the takbiran. Hopefully it will be a blessing for our family," Endri continued.
The construction of this RTLH took 29 days. The construction of this house was carried out together by residents around Dukuh Ngredi, Sindumartani, Ngemplak, Sleman. This house consists of two adult bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, family room and kitchen.
"You have a better house, please take care of it. Give it plants, so that the environment is healthier and fresher. Hopefully this house can shelter Mr. Endri's family, his daughter can live happily and create a happy family," concluded Emilia.
