TWC – Ministry of Youth and Sports & KONI Boost Tourism Through Sport Tourism

Representatives of KONI Pusat & Ministry of Youth and Sports visited the Head Office of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, & Ratu Boko (Persero), Tuesday (4/4/2021). The meeting discussed the cooperation agenda for sports events with three major themes including sport tourism, sport industry, & sport science.

Director of the Sports Fund and Business Management Institute, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Firtian Judiswandarta, said that sports tourism in particular is a combination of various elements of the field.

"This event is a collaboration between sports, tourism, and culture. In this event, the most important thing is how to hold it without a lot of crowds, with adequate broadcasting," explained Firtian.

Meanwhile, from the types of sports competed, KONI Secretary General Ade Lukman explained that his party had prepared themselves. Some of them are the National Beach Sports Week, National Martial Arts Week, National Indoor Sports Week and Indonesia Marathon.

"We will map the potential that exists in the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park and Prambanan, then we will look for an event that is right on target and appropriate, there must be a legacy given from the event," explained Ade.

PT TWC as the manager of heritage tourism destinations welcomes the discourse of sport tourism that will be held in the near future. "We hope that this sport tourism will be a trigger for the revival of the tourism world. We are ready to provide safe tourist destinations," concluded the President Director of PT TWC, Edy Setijono.
