TJSL PT TWC Launches Sambrangrowo Borobudur Child-Friendly Village
President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono together with Corporate Secretary of PT TWC Emilia Eny Utari, TJSL & SME Founding Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy and Head of Borobudur Village Anwar Ujang launched the Child-Friendly Village program in Sabrangrowo Hamlet, Borobudur Village, Magelang, Central Java, Wednesday (5/5/2021).
PT TWC's flagship Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program aims to create a child-friendly society and develop the potential of residents, both in the fields of education, social, entrepreneurship and local-based tourism.
"Hopefully we can realize this activity together and become a special attraction for Dusun Sabrangrowo. Hopefully this activity can develop, not only for internal purposes, but there must be packaging so that it can become a special destination based on locality that can be relied on," said President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono.
Borobudur Village Head Anwar Ujang said that the village government strongly supports the development program from PT TWC. He considered that this program could be a model in other areas as a form of locality-based tourism development developed by the residents themselves.
"There are several hamlets that we will make into new tourism potentials in Borobudur. Here it can be a pilot project. The Village Government wants a change in thinking in the community that has innovative thinking and becomes the main actor in this Borobudur KSPN program," he said.
In line with this, the President Director of PT TWC Eddy Setijono encouraged this program to be an added value for tourism in the Borobudur area which is a super priority destination. Authentic citizen activities can be a magnet in itself to attract tourists.
"Tourism is just an added value. There must be productive activities that can support activities in the hamlet. Activities that we package with aesthetics can become tourism. If possible, there are products based on children's activities that can be an attraction that does not yet exist around Borobudur," he explained.
Previously, Corporate Secretary of PT TWC Emilia Eny Utari together with TJSL & SME Founding Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy and the team had met with community leaders and members of the Sabrangrowo youth organization to explore the potential that could be developed in this hamlet. The meeting held on Friday (30/4/2021) was not only to foster friendship but also to ask for permission to collaborate in developing this program.
"Residents and community leaders have welcomed this program very well. They are enthusiastic and eager to work together to realize this child-friendly village," Emilia added.
Borobudur Village Government also supports the synergy formed between BUMN, Village Government and residents in developing this program.
"Child-Friendly Villages are a shared task, not only from the Village Government, Central Government, BUMN but all must be involved. Children grow quickly and need help developing the character of this nation's young shoots," he continued.
There are several work agendas that will be developed in the Child-Friendly Village program in the hamlet located to the west of the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park, including the Community Reading Park, Natural Space Children Garden, Traditional Children's Play Park, Traffic Order Park and Honesty Stall.
TJSL & SME Founding Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy added that the program, which will run for one semester, will involve the active role of Karangtaruna members in each of its activities.
"We will be together with the youth around. They will drive this program all with the active involvement of volunteers from the youth around," he explained.
"There are many potentials that can be developed. One of them is the bamboo garden that is often found in Sabrangrowo. There used to be a spinning top children's toy industry here. Through this program we will try to revive it and make it one of the interesting attractions," he concluded.
