Prambanan Could Strengthen the Narrative of Religious Moderation
Director General of Hindu Community Guidance of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, Tri Handoko Seto, together with Special Staff of the Indonesian Minister of Religion, Abdul Haris Ma'mun, Head of the Central Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, Musta'in Ahmad, and President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero), Edy Setijono, participated in a joint dialogue in the context of the 108th Anniversary of Antiquity at the Prambanan Museum, Prambanan TWC Complex, Klaten, Monday (14/6/2021).
The dialogue with the theme Strengthening Religious Moderation in Honoring Prambanan Temple aims to build a moderate narrative within the framework of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika in responding to historical masterpieces such as Prambanan.
"We want to have a dialogue so that together we can spread this attitude of moderation. Without good religious moderation, all development activities carried out can be in vain. Therefore, this program is mandatory for the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs which we must support together," explained the Director General of Hindu Community Guidance of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, Tri Handoko Seto, in his speech.
In line with that, the special staff of the Minister of Religious Affairs Abdul Haris Ma'mun said that religious moderation in community life is included in the framework of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. "This is our shared obligation. The campaign must live in harmony and be moderate within the framework of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and is carried out to foster peaceful living in Indonesia," he said.
During his two-day visit to Prambanan, the Director General of Bima Hindu also developed a tourism concept that could be developed for tourism in Prambanan.
"The Minister of Religion wants to mature tourism in Prambanan Temple, so that in the future the preservation of the temple will find better momentum and on the other hand can attract tourists, both local and international. In addition, the community has a better awareness of preservation. Today is part of our effort to mature the concept," he continued.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono said that his party wants to present the spirit of inspiring heritage in every destination it manages. This is an important step so that the values in each cultural heritage can be replicated and developed by the nation's successors.
"We are making maximum efforts so that this cultural heritage can inspire the next generation. Our nation should not only acknowledge the past, but also be able to reach the future. In this context, Prambanan will be present and become a source of inspiration for the development of science, technology, socio-culture and provide benefits that can be felt by all people," he said.
