TMII Expected to Prioritize National Arts and Culture

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) or TWC as a state-owned company has received the mandate to manage TMII as of July 1, 2021 from the Ministry of State Secretariat. The concept that has been prepared in developing Taman Mini Indonesia Indah as an Indonesian Cultural Showcase carrying the theme "Indonesia Opera", will create a new face for TMII in the future.

In achieving these goals, communication is needed to various stakeholders for friendship and internalization of the values ​​that are the goals of TMII's future development by holding a virtual meeting between TWC management and TMII management consisting of managers of the Pavilion, Museum and House of Worship. This event was opened directly by TWC Corporate Secretary Emilia Eny Utari, Thursday (8/7/2021).

"TWC took the initiative to embrace various related parties, such as the managers of the Regional Pavilion, Museum and House of Worship at TMII. We do this so that the development of TMII in the future runs well and smoothly. All parties can play a role in this transitional moment," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Regional Pavilion Communication Forum (FOKAD) TMII Samad Widodo said that there must be a common vision between the pavilion managers and TWC as the new manager of TMII. "If the vision and mission are the same, then it will be continued. If it is different, it is necessary to create another strategy because there must be a target that TWC must implement," he said.

TMII Regional Pavilion Coordinator Ertis Yulia Manikam said that the Regional Pavilion, which is a miniature of Indonesia's diversity, consists of various costumes, dances, and regional traditions that are an important part of this 150-hectare destination. She hopes that there will be special attention to the Pavilion in attracting tourists.

"There are many things that need to be done so that the platform can be optimal because there is physical and non-physical revitalization. Future programs include creating actual, contemporary programs, following developments and digitalization that really need to be prioritized," he explained.

Museum and Institutional Relations Coordinator Jaya Purnawijaya said that the management of the museum is divided into several related institutions. "There are five institutions, under BPP TMII itself, Ministries and Institutions, BUMN, Regional Governments and Communities. In the future, this needs to be thought about and regulated regarding this institutional issue," he said.

In addition, the Coordinator of the TMII Management Implementation Agency (BPP) Unit, Sachur YT, who is also in charge of the management of 7 Houses of Worship in TMII, explained that in TMII there are Mosques, St. Catarina and Hallelujah Churches, Temples, Viharas, Chinese Temples and the Belief in God Almighty.
"These places of worship were built in the same year except for the Klenteng which was built in 2020. Some activities are routine and special, such as big days. They are led by their respective assemblies, but administration and operations must be permitted by TMII," he said. "TWC hopes that this virtual meeting will be the first step in realizing cooperation to organize and develop TMII in institutional governance, so that the management of the Pavilion, Museum and Place of Worship in the future can be easier and less bureaucratic. As the new manager, TWC invites all TMII stakeholders to synergize and be involved in realizing TMII's ideals so that they can attract and attract national and international tourists to visit TMII," concluded Emilia.
