CEO Invites to Build Competence in Developing TMII
Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono invited all management of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) to develop their competencies in the future development of TMII. This is considering the great potential that can still be explored to optimize the role of TMII for the tourism industry in Indonesia.
Through this competency, it is hoped that a sense of trust can be built in the management of TMII which now belongs to all Indonesian people. This was stated during the Joint Briefing of the TWC President Director at the Sasono Langen Budoyo Building, TMII, Jakarta, Wednesday (1/9/2021).
"We must have a future. Building the future must be done by carrying out the mandate according to its competence. However, competence is important to develop TMII," he explained.
"As long as we have the competence, there will always be a way to improve the mindset. That is the strategy we take if we want to develop," he said.
On that occasion, Edy explained that the granting of TMII management to the BUMN managing the Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko Temple Tourism Park area was inseparable from the competence that TWC had so far possessed.
The management that has been carried out on this world heritage cultural tourism object has proven to receive appreciation from various parties so that TWC was given the mandate and assignment to be able to manage the area initiated by Mrs. Tien Soeharto.
"TWC in the past five years has a good track record. Its management and financial performance are good, and it has received high public trust. This can be proven in managing international cultural heritage, by gaining appreciation from related institutions. Of course, it is not without obstacles, but we are focused on carrying out this mandate," he said.
Edy Setijono believes that good competence will produce professional company performance. This will produce results that can be enjoyed by all management.
"Our intention is to contribute to give the best for TMII. Maximum competence and performance will be in line with the welfare achieved. This is what we have proven during the past five years at TWC," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the TMII Management Agency Work Unit, Diyono, supports the spirit of the new TMII manager. The man who has served for 37 years has signed an integrity pact as a form and benchmark for the governance process in the future management transition.
"We will maintain integrity and uphold the mandate given to TMII in the future. Hopefully this can bring goodness in the process," said the Head of the TMII Health Protocol Team.
