SIMULATION OF TMII OPENING TRIAL USING PEDULILINDUNGI
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) as the manager of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) conducted a trial simulation of the opening of the destination using the PeduliLindungi application, Tuesday (21/9/2021). This activity was attended by the Deputy Mayor of East Jakarta Hendra Hidayat who was accompanied by the President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono and the Executive Director of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) I Gusti Putu Ngurah Sedana.
The simulation was carried out considering that TMII was selected as one of 20 destinations in Java-Bali that was permitted to operate on a limited basis by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia using the PeduliLindungi application.
TMII will enforce the use of PeduliLindungi on Wednesday (22/9/2021). TMII Executive Director I Gusti Putu Ngurah Sedana explained that all visitors are required to use PeduliLindungi while in the TMII area. Several tourist attractions have been opened, such as the Indonesian Fauna Museum 'Komodo' Reptilia Park and Bird Park.
"We are open because it is outdoors. Meanwhile, we are still closing the water rides," he explained.
TMII management has conducted socialization of the prerequisites for visits to the public. The installation of banners and socialization on social media have been intensively carried out as preventive measures that will hinder the activation process and check in visitors.
Upon entering the area, officers will conduct body temperature checks and scan the barcodes of visitors. "If it shows the results check in (green) can enter. "If not, we will prepare to turn around," explained Putu.
While in the TMII area, officers always remind tourists to continue to comply with strict health protocols by wearing masks and reducing crowds. If tourists are going to leave TMII, they are required to scan the barcode check out.
"Because it is a family tourist spot, so many people spread out mats under trees, in shady places. There we provide information to continue to comply with the protocol not to gather in crowds," he continued.
President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono said that this simulation was carried out as a requirement for opening tourist destinations with the implementation of the PeduliLindungi application. This step must be accompanied by firmness and a professional attitude in its implementation in the field.
"The principle is that when entering the TMII area, all visitors must use this application. We want the implementation of PeduliLindungi to be tracking and tracing tourists can be done. This is indeed a precautionary effort by the government. But, this is also a bright spot for us, that little by little this tourism sector can start to rise again," he explained.
Edy Setijono hopes that this step will receive support from all parties to revive the tourism sector affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"We want all parties to support this activity. If we are disciplined in implementing health protocols, including by using this application, we have confidence that little by little the tourism sector can recover," he said.
Deputy Mayor of East Jakarta Hendra Hidayat appreciated the steps taken by TMII management to conduct a trial opening using the PeduliLindungi application. According to him, the opening of TMII will satisfy the longing of residents who yearn for a normal life and can enjoy tourism safely and comfortably.
“TMII is a legendary tourist spot. The opening of TMII is the fruit of an aspiration, where people can return to normal. We appreciate the management's efforts to cure the longing for a normal life and enjoy the existing tourist attractions. However, everything must also comply with strict health protocols," he explained.
TWC President Director Edy Setijono hopes that this trial can help the process of restoring the tourism world and the economy, especially around the TMII area.
