Visit of the Minister of State Secretariat and Minister of PUPR to TMII
Minister of State Secretariat Pratikno and Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono paid a working visit to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Tuesday (25/1/2022). The visit was also attended by Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, President Director of InJourney Dony Oskaria, Deputy President Director of InJourney Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono, Director of Marketing & Services of PT TWC Hetty Herawati and Director of Engineering & Infrastructure Mardijono Nugroho.
During his visit, the State Secretary and the Minister of PUPR received a direct presentation regarding the development and reviewed the destinations that will be revitalized. In addition, the group also visited a number of revitalized locations, such as Joglo Sasono Langen Utomo, Lake Archipelago, the former Snowbay Building, and Keong Mas.
The revitalization of TMII was carried out to support the implementation of the 20 G2022 Presidency. In addition, this revitalization serves to restore the dignity of TMII as before.
"This renovation is done to restore the original dignity. Like the proportion of green open space to buildings that used to be 70 to 30 percent, now it's the opposite. In addition, we schedule destination activities by collaborating with various related parties," explained PT TWC President Director Edy Setijono.
State Secretary Pratikno in his direction said that TMII is expected to become an inclusive destination that can be reached by all Indonesian people.
"The beauty of the landscape and destination attractions in TMII due to this revitalization, hopefully, can still be enjoyed by all levels of society. We want TMII to be an inclusive destination," he explained.
The renovation of TMII has received a special assignment from Jokowi through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 116 of 2021 concerning the acceleration of the implementation of infrastructure development to support the holding of international events in Bali, DKI Jakarta, NTB, and NTT.
Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that the total budget prepared for the renovation of TMII reached around IDR 1,136 trillion for 2022.
