PT TWC and PT INKA Collaborate to Develop Environmentally Friendly Transportation Modes for Tourist Destinations

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borbudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko collaborate with PT INKA (Persero) to develop environmentally friendly transportation modes in tourist destination areas. This was done by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Developing Tourism Transportation Modes at the Head Office of PT INKA (Persero), Sunday (27/3/2022).

President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono together with President Director of PT INKA (Persero) Budi Noviantoro signed this memorandum of understanding witnessed directly by Deputy Minister II of the Ministry of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo. This cooperation is expected to be a driver of the trend of using environmentally friendly transportation modes in tourist destination areas.

"TWC has signed an MoU with PT INKA specifically for the development of electric transportation modes in tourist areas. In the future, we hope that this collaboration will not only be in TMII, but also as the beginning of the development of modes, both in tourist areas and building connectivity between tourist destinations. So in the future, we will use modes based on renewable energy," explained Edy Setijono.

The Tram Mover that will operate in TMII is rectangular in shape and has wide glass walls, so that passengers can enjoy the view more freely. The design looks minimalist and modern and is dominated by the color red. The interior of the Tram Mover is equipped with comfortable circular chairs for visitors. This Tram Mover will later operate automatically without a driver controlled through the Operation Control Center (OCC) system.

"This Tram Mover vehicle is something new, both in terms of technology and mode. I think it will attract attention. Especially when there are G20 delegates, this can be a means to enjoy the beauty of TMII," said President Director of PT INKA (Persero) Budi Noviantoro.

Deputy Minister II of the Ministry of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that PT TWC as a SOE engaged in the management of cultural tourism destinations and cultural heritage has now transformed. His party strongly supports the synergy between SOEs this time for the advancement of technology and the development of renewable energy in Indonesia, especially in the tourism sector.
