Eid 2022, TWC Ensures Destination Readiness to Welcome Tourists

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (PT TWC) ensures the readiness of destinations to receive tourist visits during the 2022 Eid al-Fitr holiday. PT TWC predicts that the 2022 Eid al-Fitr holiday will be different from the previous two years, so it requires thorough preparation and synergy with various related stakeholders.

"We ensure the readiness of excellent safety-based services that do not reduce tourist comfort, both in the form of improving a number of facilities in the field, as well as synergizing with stakeholders in ensuring health protocols, including the smooth use of the PeduliLindungi application," explained PT TWC President Director Edy Setijono.

TWC Borobudur and Prambanan destinations extend their tourist service operating hours during Eid 2022, starting from 07.00 – 17.00 WIB. Meanwhile, for TWC Ratu Boko, tourist service operating hours are set at 08.00 – 18.00. PT TWC predicts an increase in the number of tourist visits during Eid 2022. This is supported by the Joint Decree of the Three Ministers stating the joint leave schedule for Eid 2022 and Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah. In addition, the rapid rate of pandemic recovery through the massive vaccination program has accelerated the recovery of the tourism world, especially for TWC destinations.

Visits to PT TWC destinations during Eid 2022 are predicted to increase compared to Eid 2021. The increase in the number of tourists will start to occur on April 27, 2022 (D-4) to May 10, 2022 (D+8 of Eid). Meanwhile, the service target at PT TWC destinations during Eid 2022 is to create tourist safety and comfort, one of which is through the implementation of strict health protocols, according to CHSE standards.

"We ask for the support and cooperation of all parties to ensure that visitor comfort is the top priority in this awaited moment. Hopefully, TWC Borobudur, Prambanan and Kraton Ratu Boko can be present to cure the longing of tourists to visit our proud destinations together," he concluded.

To enhance the tourist experience in visiting the destination, PT TWC has also prepared a special strategy for tourists, namely the Sustainable Tourism campaign. The campaign was reduced to Green Tourism which includes several programs. This green tourism is intended to convey a message to the public about the importance of maintaining the harmony of the preservation of cultural and natural heritage, when visiting the destinations of Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple and Kraton Ratu Boko.

"The Sustainable Tourism campaign that is included in Green Tourism is a real action of TWC to contribute to the preservation of cultural and natural heritage, and invite tourists to also play a role in the campaign. Tourists can enjoy the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park and Prambanan Temple by going around on an electrical vehicle and enjoying the EduKriya Go Green Package experience at the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park. Visitors can also enjoy drinking fountain facilities at several points in the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park," added Hetty Herawati, Marketing & Service Director of PT TWC.

The campaign began on New Year 2022, by inviting the first tourists to plant trees in the PT TWC destination area. The campaign was continued with other sustainable programs, such as the EduKriya Go Green Package, synergizing with partners to organize tree planting activities to maintain the balance and conservation of nature in the cultural heritage areas of Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple and Kraton Ratu Boko.

Meanwhile, the EduKriya Go Green Package is the making of Borobudur Temple souvenir crafts from the main material derived from plastic waste, combined with other environmentally friendly materials such as sand, red brick powder, starch and water. "We hope that the participation of tourists in this campaign can strengthen the sense of pride and ownership of world cultural heritage destinations, so that the community also maintains the harmony of the preservation of nature and Indonesian cultural heritage," concluded Hetty Herawati.
