Thousands of Cyclists Join Tour de Prambanan 2022
Thousands of cyclists showed off their strength at the 2022 Tour de Prambanan event which started from Siwa Field, Prambanan Temple Tourism Park complex, Saturday (30/07/2022). The participants explored a 128 km route that passed through three districts in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, namely Sleman, Kulonprogo and Bantul.
The participants of the Tour de Prambanan were symbolically released by the Deputy Regent of Sleman Danang Maharsa together with Deputy 3 for Sports Culture of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Raden Isnanta, Head of the DIY Tourism Office Singgih Raharjo, Deputy Chief of the DIY Regional Police Brigadier General Pol R Slamet Santoso, Head of the DIY Education and Youth Office BPO Priya Santoso, General Chairperson of the DIY KONI Djoko Pekik Irianto and Director of Engineering & Infrastructure of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko Mardijono Nugroho.
This activity was attended by 1.270 participants from 208 Cycling Communities from all over Indonesia such as Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bandung, Semarang, Balikpapan, Riau, Medan, Bali, Papua, Madiun, Madura, Surabaya, Kediri, Denpasar, and others. In addition, there were participants from three countries, namely Japan, the Netherlands and Germany.
In releasing the 2022 Tour de Prambanan group, the Deputy Regent of Sleman hoped that the existence of the '2022 Tour de Prambanan' could be a means of promotion as well as the revival of the tourism world in Sleman.
"We hope that with the Tour de Prambanan, it can improve the tourism network and increase tourism growth again in Sleman Regency after the Covid-19 pandemic," he explained.
Deputy Deputy 3 for Sports Culture of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Raden Isnanta said that his party strongly supports the implementation of the 2022 Tour de Prambanan.
"This activity is included in the context of sport tourism and this is in accordance with the mandate of the National Sports Grand Design (DBON). This is very appropriate, sports are collaborated with the tourism industry," he said.
Meanwhile, PT TWC as a manager of cultural heritage-based tourist destinations supports the development of sport tourism in Indonesia. This commitment is carried out as part of supporting the transformation process towards an era of sustainable quality tourism.
"We support national and international sporting events in our destinations. This is part of developing quality tourism in destinations and areas that will have a direct impact on the surrounding economy," he concluded.
