PT TWC CEO Gives Direction to OJT Employees
President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko Edy Setijono gave direct instructions to nine employees On Job Training (OJT) Joint Recruitment program held by the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI) BUMN in 2022 at Bukit Dagi, Borobudur Temple Tourism Park, Magelang, Tuesday (16/8/2022).
Treated to a panoramic view sunrise Borobudur Temple, with the Menoreh Mountains as its backdrop and the mouth-watering Dagi Abhinaya breakfast menu, the President Director of PT TWC invited participants to rethink how great the vision of their predecessors was when building the temple, which is now a World Heritage site. According to him, this legacy of a 1400-year-old civilization needs to be managed professionally by involving a clean heart and a progressive mind.
"We are entrusted to manage an extraordinary work of civilization. It requires harmony of heart and mind that will later drive our managerial steps to maintain and develop this world cultural heritage," he explained.
From the hill at an altitude of 275 meters where the king and architects observed the construction of Borobudur Temple from 775 AD to 832 AD, Edy Setijono hopes that these on-boarding employees have a big vision like the previous kings, both Syailendra and Rakai Pikatan who built Prambanan Temple. This big vision can later lead the company to go further and better.
"This place was chosen to welcome friends so that they can grow a great vision and spirit. I want my friends to understand why managing TWC is different from other companies. Friends are required to not only rely on cognitive abilities, but also a clean heart is needed to manage this destination," he continued.
Borobudur Temple, which according to research was built using two million andesite stones from the river around the temple area, has inspired many works and visions of the nation's children. The historical narrative embedded in the reliefs is a source of authentic knowledge that is part of the greatness of the archipelago.
TWC's CEO hopes that OJT participants can inherit the knowledge from Borobudur. "Borobudur is the Civilization Library "This should be an inspiration for all of us in producing new works that will decorate a new civilization in the future," he said.
As a tourist magnet in Central Java and DI Yogyakarta, Borobudur Temple is a source of hope for tourism actors and the surrounding community. Visited by 4 million tourists before the pandemic, the Borobudur Temple tourist attraction, which was designated as a Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP), also plays an important role in participating in the development of the surrounding tourism area.
"Borobudur functions as an aggregator of economic growth in the Joglosemar region. So we are also actively involved in the mission to become a coordinator for the development of super priority tourism areas. I hope you can produce new works that will later become references for the development of national tourism," he explained.
Meanwhile, VP Organization & Human Capital Development PT TWC Sylvianti Ika Pratiwi explained the joint recruitment agenda carried out by FHCI BUMN simultaneously throughout Indonesia. The selection process began in April to May. Furthermore, internal recruitment was carried out consisting of TKD, work field tests, psychological tests and medical check-ups.
"Participants were filtered from 100 who passed in the initial stage, until only 9 people were accepted until now," he explained.
After following the process on boarding at the BUMN Pariwisata InJourney holding for one week, the participants then headed to their respective companies. While at PT TWC, they were invited to learn more about the business processes being run and experience firsthand customer experience from the destinations it manages.
"We have been on the road since Monday to Prambanan, Ratu Boko unit, Teater Pentas, and finally at The Manohara Hotel Yogyakarta. After the sitw visit is complete, the plan is for these OJT employees to attend a ceremony and introduce the head office along with all employees and then start getting placement locations according to their respective fields of work," he explained.
