TWC Prambanan Intensifies Promotion to Boost Tourist Visits
Tourist visits to the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park (TWC) have not been optimal after the current Covid-19 pandemic, although there has been an increase. The average visit to TWC Prambanan is still below the quota set by the Covid-19 Task Force of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
"We feel that this increase is not optimal. Because even though visiting restrictions are still in place, the average number of visits per day is still far below the quota set by the DIY COVID-19 Task Force," said TWC Prambanan General Manager Jamaludin Mawardi in Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Friday (16/9/2022).
He said, for normal days, the average tourist visit to TWC Prambanan ranges from 2.000 to 2.500 people, while on weekends it can reach 3.000 tourists. "While the quota given by the Covid-19 Task Force is 7.000 tourists per day," he said.
Therefore, TWC Prambanan continues to intensify promotions through various events to increase tourist visits to the destination, so that it can recover quickly as before the Covid-19 pandemic. "Promotions through a number of entertainment and sports events are indeed quite significant in boosting tourist visits to TWC," he said.
Jamaludin said during the long weekend holiday which is usually due to a sandwich day, tourist visits can reach as many as 5.000 visitors in one day. "Then when there are entertainment, sports and other events held in the Prambanan Temple area, tourist visits can also increase to touch 5.000 visitors," he said.
He said that foreign tourist visits have also started to increase by an average of 200 to 250 tourists per day. "The peak of foreign tourist visits occurred in August to early September yesterday, along with the arrival of the holiday season and summer in Europe," he said.
