BUMN's Service for Indonesia, TWC Inaugurates Livable Houses in Gunungkidul
Mr. Slamet (58 years old) and Mrs. Rumilah (61 years old), a husband and wife who work as farm laborers, can now have a decent and comfortable home. The dream of having a decent home has finally come true through the Environmental Social Responsibility program of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko.
"It has been more than six years trying various programs that come for home renovation, this is the first time it has succeeded. Alhamdulillah, the long-standing dream of having a decent home has finally come true thanks to PT TWC," explained Slamet.
Slamet and Rumilah are a couple who returned to their hometown after decades of living in the capital. During the reformation, they and their two children returned to Gunungkidul to settle until now.
They built a plywood-walled house on a 6x9 meter empty plot of land. This house became a shelter for his family, until his children lived independently from Slamet and Rumilah. "The children are enthusiastic, often video calling with their grandchildren to see their grandfather's new house," continued Slamet.
PT TWC is present through a program to assist in repairing/renovating Uninhabitable Houses for residents living in Dusun Genjahan, Simo Village, Ponjong District, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. The renovation process for this 6 x 9 meter house began on September 5, 2022 and was completed on October 15, 2022.
President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono accompanied by Corporate Secretary of PT TWC AY Suhartanto ceremonially inaugurated the habitable house of Mr. Slamet's family witnessed directly by the Head of Genjahan Village Agung Nugroho, Friday (21/10/2022). This program aims to help the community in having a decent, healthy and clean home. Through this activity, TWC also supports the government's program in dealing with extreme poverty as well as a real manifestation of BUMN's Bakti for Indonesia.
Genjahan Village Head Agung Nugroho said that his village has a program for habitable housing for its residents. However, since the pandemic, funds for revitalization have been channeled entirely to handling Covid-19. This assistance greatly helps ease the program to revitalize uninhabitable houses through village funds disbursed by the government.
"There has been no assistance for RTLH revitalization in our village for almost three years because the funds must be channeled to the handling of Covid-19. Hopefully, with the assistance of PT TWC, our work through the village to provide decent houses for residents can be realized soon," he explained.
President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono said that PT TWC as a BUMN provides broad benefits to the Indonesian people, one of which is the revitalization of uninhabitable houses in various regions in Central Java and DIY.
"We were given the task by the state to set aside business income. We must convey it to the public. We are expected to provide broad benefits to the public," he explained.
In addition, PT TWC through TJSL pays special attention to the health, education and social sectors. "This program helps Mr. Slamet and his mother sleep more comfortably. You can live your life more calmly and more importantly, you can be more solemn in worship," he concluded.
