Activities of the First Lady and OASE Members with Students at Borobudur Temple
Borobudur Temple as one of the Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP) is a driver of the Indonesian tourism ecosystem, including through the implementation of green tourism and sustainable tourism. In order to realize this, TWC as the manager makes every effort to provide quality services and activities for quality and sustainable tourism.
In line with this, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin together with members of the Era Solidarity Action Organization (OASE) of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet carried out healthy exercise, sorted waste and washed hands with soap at Marga Utama, Borobudur Temple Tourism Park, Magelang, Wednesday (1/2/2023). The activity was carried out in order to promote a clean, healthy and environmentally conscious lifestyle from an early age to support the realization of a prosperous life in Indonesia.
The activity, which was attended by hundreds of school students in Magelang and its surroundings, began with joint exercise by 500 junior high and high school students along with all OASE members. After the joint exercise, the students received socialization on how to sort waste and its function for the surrounding environment.
The activity was continued with kindergarten students for a handwashing campaign with soap as part of a campaign to maintain personal hygiene. In addition to maintaining personal hygiene, on that occasion, a demonstration was also given on how to process plastic waste into educational crafts.
Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo and Mrs. Mury Ma'aruf Amin also tried to make educational crafts together with elementary school students from around the Borobudur area. This activity campaigns the spirit of going green by reducing waste into useful materials, especially for making crafts, such as calligraphy and stupas.
The activity was closed with tree planting in Aksobya Park, TWC Borobudur complex. This action is a series of National Movement for Planting 1000 Fruit Trees held in 34 provinces of Indonesia.
