Various Travel Experiences at Temple Tourism Park Destinations at the 202 ASEAN Tourism Forum

The 2023 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) series was held in Yogyakarta on February 3-5, 2023. On this agenda, PT TWC was honored to be one of the venues for the implementation of the agenda. A variety of experiences were presented to showcase the diversity of arts and culture and the beauty of tourist destinations. This is expected to be a means of promoting tourism and the creative economy that will encourage the growth of the Indonesian economy.

Opening Ceremony ATF 2023 was held at the Open Air Theater Ramayana Ballet Prambanan. The delegates were welcomed by 1.000 Dolalak dancers, from Purworejo, which is a dance that embodies acculturation that adopts Central Javanese dance and pencak silat movements accompanied by a number of musical instruments such as jidhur, kendang and Terbang.

After that, the delegates were again treated to the “Dewa Ruci” dance from Yogyakarta. This dance depicts a student’s obedience to a teacher, independence and the struggle to find one’s identity. The opening of ATF 2023 was marked by the beating of the gong by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Ma'aruf Amin, accompanied by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Secretary General of ASEAN and the Deputy Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

The opening of ATF ended with a Ramayana Ballet performance that tells the love story between Rama and Shinta. At the end of the story, the Hanoman Obong scene was set which amazed the delegates and invited guests. 

In the next activity, the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, invited the delegation to take part in wellness tourism through yoga while viewing the splendor of Borobudur Temple from Dagi Hill in the Borobudur Temple complex.

The delegation also enjoyed the signature dishes of Manohara Borobudur inspired by the reliefs of Borobudur Temple to gain an authentic and memorable gastronomic experience. During their visit to Borobudur Temple, the delegation was introduced to the upanat sandals specially designed for tourists who will climb the Borobudur Temple structure. This is an effort to preserve the Borobudur Temple monument.
