Sharpen Students' Skills, PT TWC Holds Student Entrepreneurship
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko through their Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) organizes a Student Entrepreneur program to develop culinary tourism in destinations. This Creating Shared Value (CSV)-based program supports vocational high school students majoring in Culinary Arts who want to develop Indonesian culinary menus and open up opportunities to pour out innovation and creativity based on culinary businesses in tourist destinations.
This activity began with the collection of presentations of the set menu. Ten proposals that came in were then filtered again into five proposals that were entitled to participate in the cooking competition directly at the Pendopo Candi Sewu, Prambanan. Meanwhile, the creation of the set menu that was made had to be original and themed Indonesian Cuisine.
Five vocational schools consisting of SMK I Kalasan, SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta, SMK BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta, SMK I Sewon Bantul, and SMK 6 Yogyakarta competed to present delicious and attractive Indonesian Cuisine-themed dishes. Several jury assessments included work management, food hygiene and health, menu development, cooking methods and food presentation.
Corporate Secretary of PT TWC AY Suhartanto said that this agenda is a synergy between BUMN and schools to develop students' potential, especially in the culinary and culinary fields.
"This is proof that PT TWC is collaborating with the academic world to build a synergy, how we provide space for students and schools to practice entrepreneurship," he explained when opening the event, Monday (20/2/2023).

He felt proud to be able to win the 2023 TWC Student Entrepreneur and hoped that it could continue to be done to improve the ability to serve the best dishes for tourists.
"Of course, I am proud to be able to participate and win this event. This activity can add experience. We hope that this event will have more participants as part of the students' own learning," he said.
Head of the Culinary Arts Department of SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta, Anggar Dewana Nurmalasari, hopes that this activity can continue to hone the culinary arts students' abilities.
"Hopefully this activity can continue and the cooperation that has been established can continue," he said.
TJSL & SME Founding Manager Ismiyati said that the school that wins the Student Entrepreneurship will become a partner of PT TWC to develop Joglo Candi Sewu as one of the culinary objects in the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park area.
"This synergy will continue by involving the winning school to become a strategic partner in developing Joglo Candi Sewu. So that the values of Creating Shared Value (CSV) that are beneficial for schools and companies can be implemented properly," he concluded.
