TWC's Bakti for Indonesia Improves Balkondes Homestay Standardization with BUMN Bakti Volunteers

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (TWC) synergizes with BNI and Telkom to support the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Volunteer program in Borobudur. The program is titled Refining Borobudur Hospitality This has a vision of supporting quality tourism in the Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP) Borobudur. This is done through efforts to improve standardization homestay and accommodation as one of the main supporting sectors of tourism.

The Borobudur BUMN Volunteer Program, which runs from March 7-10, 2023, accelerates standardization homestay through various intensive programs, including analyzing and compiling Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Hospitality, Salesand Marketing. Meanwhile, the volunteers came from various state-owned companies, including Jasamarga, Kimia Farma, Mandiri, BTN, BRI, Perkebunan Nusantara XIV, Pertamina Patra Niaga, Pertamina Bina Medika, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), and Perkebunan Nusantara V.

Corporate secretary TWC, AY Suhartanto said that the Borobudur BUMN Volunteers are an intensive program to accelerate standardization. homestay and lodging in the Borobudur area. This is implemented to support the growth of quality tourism in DPSP Borobudur.

"BUMN volunteers are present in the Borobudur area to support efforts to standardize services and marketing of accommodation in this area. Of course, this is a shared need for tourism actors, especially owners homestay and Balkondes managers to provide excellent service for tourists," explained AY Suhartanto when opening this activity at Balkondes Ngaran, Borobudur, Magelang, Tuesday (7/3/2023).

TWC together with BUMN Volunteers strive to improve the capabilities of accommodation in the Borobudur area. As one of the coordinators of the BUMN Volunteer program in Borobudur, TWC fully supports activities that are in line with the company's goals, namely to make DPSP Borobudur a quality tourist destination.

"BUMN Volunteer Action entitled Refining Borobudur Hospitality This aims to support the formation of a quality destination in Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java, as well as improving the economy of the community at large," he continued.

One of the participants of the Borobudur BUMN Volunteers, Windha Rumadianto, said that during the activity, he and other participants found various challenges that included the accommodation ecosystem in Borobudur. One of them is the absence of service quality standards in Borobudur accommodation.

"Services, facilities and SOPs in each Balkondes are different. The management is also under the auspices of each BUMDes. Meanwhile, services are carried out by the community itself, most of which implement aspects hospitality based on habit, not because of training expert. Of course, this has an impact on the gap in guest occupancy," he said.

He and other BUMN Volunteers carried out identification, brainstorming and drafting the finalization of the SOP. After that, they also conduct intensive socialization and training so that managers understand and are able to implement the SOP properly.

"The SOP that was formulated is the SOP basic, because of the different characteristics of each Balkondes. After the SOP is formulated, our task is to help and assist the Balkondes administrators with intensive training so that they are able to implement the SOP in the field," he said.

BUMN Bakti Volunteers is a program initiated by the Ministry of BUMN which provides an opportunity for BUMN employees from all over Indonesia to be directly involved in providing their services to build Indonesia through the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL).

In addition to standardizing service regulations in a number of local accommodations, BUMN Volunteers also implemented the Environmental Social Responsibility program by providing story books and kickballs to various schools in the Borobudur area.

"This aims to introduce BUMN to the public, especially children. That this BUMN is not just a name and only serves. The presence of BUMN must be able to provide real benefits to the community, especially to the younger generation who will continue the development of the nation and state," said Telkom Magelang representative, Sanjaya.

Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that BUMN not only plays a role as a driver of the economy, but also plays a role in the social aspect. Erick said that the BUMN Bakti Volunteer program is a form of commitment to providing the best contribution to society and the country.
