Igniting Youth Spirit, PT TWC Holds Youth Cultural Competition 2023 at Ratu Boko Palace

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (TWC) presents the spirit of youth in echoing campaign and tourism promotion of Ratu Boko Palace. Through the implementation of Youth Cultural Competition 2023 on Saturday (28/10/2023), became one of the potential development spaces content creator young people in promoting educational historical destinations such as Keraton Ratu Boko. 

Dozens content creator young people crowded the Keraton Ratu Boko destination, competing to photograph the potential of one of the leading destinations in Yogyakarta. The 2023 Youth Cultural Competition invites participants to be creative in their works, while enjoying the beautiful panorama of this 8th century AD cultural heritage site by the Syailendra Dynasty. The iconic view of the Keraton Ratu Boko Gate is one of the charming views for the participants. 

This activity is presented to foster awareness among the younger generation towards one of the historical sites in Indonesia, namely Keraton Ratu Boko, by visualizing campaign tourism and conservation through media that interests Gen-Z. 

Youth Cultural Competition 2023 is one of the programs Creating Shared Value (CSV) of PT TWC's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL), in which PT TWC plays a dual role, namely creating economic value (economic value) and social values ​​(social values) together (shared), without prioritizing or ignoring one of them. This activity is also a form of support from PT TWC as a tourist destination manager to creative economy actors and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the surrounding area. 

In this competition, various activities are presented at Keraton Ratu Boko, including traditional games, herbal medicine entrepreneurs, Boko Picnic, and traditional arts of gejog lesung and srandul as well as Boko Membatik. These various activities are an interesting presentation that can be used as content material that is inspiring and interesting. Moreover, the sunset panorama at Keraton Ratu Boko is an iconic visual and is much sought after by tourists.

Corporate Secretary of PT TWC, AY Suhartanto said that the 2023 Youth Cultural Competition activity is a form of concern for one of the nation's cultural heritage heritages while supporting the existence of creative economy actors, MSMEs and cultural arts actors in the Ratu Boko area, which is one of the tourist attractions that influences economic growth in the surrounding area.

“As a tourist destination manager cultural & heritage In Indonesia, PT TWC also grows together with the community and regional tourism actors, one of which is through the CSV program. How to contribute to the development and progress of Indonesian tourism, bringing tourist destinations that are full of artistic and cultural values, educational and preservation aspects closer to today's young generation. Through the 2023 Youth Cultural Competition, it is hoped that it will become a positive forum for the involvement and active role of students and pupils, to improve public awareness "Regarding the destination of Keraton Ratu Boko, including the historical educational values ​​and potential in the surrounding area," said AY Suhartanto.

Participants who take part in the 2023 Youth Cultural Competition are given the freedom to explore Ratu Boko Palace with its various tourism potentials, targeting views and footage interesting, and packaged in video visuals that are full of value story telling, so that key message regarding Keraton Ratu Boko can be conveyed to the public. 

"The 2023 Youth Cultural Competition program can spur the development of MSMEs and the creative economy that support tourism at Keraton Ratu Boko, while encouraging students to continue contributing to the country through the scope of the younger generation. As the Government of the Republic of Indonesia has opened wide the participation of young men and women of the young generation of Indonesia, in line with realizing the hopes of the future of Indonesia together. Inclusivity in the ecosystem of cross-generational collaboration has built collective optimism that now young men and women have an honorable place in national development," he explained.

One of the participants in the 2023 Youth Cultural Competition, Adelheid (15 years old) said that this program also helped the... content creator young people to hone their skills in creating educational content related to cultural heritage destinations. In addition, this competition also opened their insights into historical and cultural heritage destinations.

"Through this program, we learned historical stories that we didn't find in school lessons, so it became interesting material to be used as educational and impressive content," said the student of SMA I Kalasan.
