Collaborative Synergy of PT TWC and Bina Abyakta Foundation

PT TWC collaborates with the Bina Abyakta Foundation to present a collection of merchandise made by special children with autism. PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (TWC) officially signed an MoU with the Bina Abyakta Foundation on the Development and Marketing of Souvenirs, Food and Beverage Products, Attractions, Art Activities, Education, Social Activities and TJSL, Human Resource Development and Marketing Campaigns involving special needs talents.

As the manager of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and the World Heritage destinations of Borobudur and Prambanan, PT TWC will provide space for 'Special Children' to express their best work at tourist destinations such as Borobudur and Prambanan temples.

The works are like t-shirts, outerwear to tumblers. The works take the theme of legendary stories such as Roro Jonggrang, Rama Shinta to Hanoman based on the interpretation of the children themselves. Later the works will be sold as merchandise that can be purchased by tourists.

All the works produced are handmade by the special needs children. All the processes are done by their own hands, from sketching to coloring using Adobe Illustrator software.

"It took a total of 1 month. They did the work themselves. Everything, from sketching, tracing to making a picture," explained Vita Priastuty as the Operational Coordinator of the Bina Abyakta Foundation, Friday (17/11/2023).

Meanwhile, Hetty Herawati as Director of Marketing, Services and Business Development of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko, acknowledged that the work of the children fostered by the Bina Abyakta Foundation was very beautiful.

"We are collaborating with the Bina Abyakta Foundation, which has been fostering special children with special needs by honing their creative abilities. We provide a collaboration space with these talented special children so that they can contribute to Indonesian tourism in the destinations that we manage. It is very touching to witness the process of fostering special children by the Bina Abyakta Foundation so that they can produce extraordinary creative works, discover hidden talents and build their independence," said Hetty in her statement.

PT TWC is indeed committed to presenting sustainable and inclusive destinations for all parties. This is in accordance with the universal values contained in each Cultural Heritage site it manages. In addition, inclusive destinations also play a role in providing more benefits for all parties.

“PT TWC continues to be committed to presenting inclusive destinations to all tourists. In addition to providing good and friendly accessibility for people with disabilities, we also collaborate with schools for children with special needs. This synergy with the Bina Abyakta Foundation is the first step that will be followed by many other collaborations. We greatly hope that tourists will welcome this program. By purchasing products that are the result of the creations, ideas and tastes of the Bina Abyakta Foundation, tourists have supported and motivated children with special needs to continue to contribute to Indonesian tourism,” concluded Hetty.
