Building Social Responsibility Awareness, PT TWC Conducts ISO 26000 Awareness Training

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko held a two-day ISO 26000 Awareness training, March 6-7, 2024 at the Keraton Ratu Boko Unit Meeting Room, Sleman, Yogyakarta. This training is a form of the company's commitment to implementing regulations and contributing to sustainable development.

The activity, which was attended by various divisions at PT TWC, collaborated with PT TUV NORD Indonesia. The ISO 26000 Awareness Training invited participants from various work divisions to foster awareness and shared responsibility in implementing social responsibility in the company.

In the training with resource person Esther Mahar as ISO 26000 Trainer, the definition, scope, terminology, and principles of social responsibility were discussed. In addition, Esther Mahar also emphasized that social responsibility (SR) is inherent in all divisions, not only the CSR division.

"Social responsibility is applied to various company work processes such as procurement, investment, recruitment, promotion, public relations and others. In prioritizing programs, it is important to identify stakeholders and activities that have an impact on the sustainability of the company," he explained.

VP of Legal & Compliance PT TWC Destantiana Nurina said that the implementation of integrated and comprehensive Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) supported by all parties and work divisions in the company is a manifestation of the implementation of Awareness SNI 26000. This aims to realize the goals of sustainable development (Sustainable Development Goals/SDG).

"Social responsibility in the Company must be well integrated. Social responsibility is not only the property of the TJSL division, but must be implemented in the process in each Directorate and each Division. Through this awareness and shared responsibility, it is hoped that the company can continue to exist and be meaningful, both to improve the quality of life and the environment that is beneficial, both for the company, the local community, and society in general," he explained.

This SNI 26000 Awareness Training is a continuation program of the formation of the PT TWC Social and Environmental Responsibility Committee (TJSL) in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of SOEs No. 1 of 2023 which oversees program planning to evaluation and acts as a planning framework and creates a priority scale to program evaluation.

The implementation of BUMN's TJSL is also oriented towards achieving the 17 values ​​of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by referring to the 7 core subjects of ISO 26000 as the global standard for implementing CSR, which include Organizational Governance, Human Rights, Work Relations and Practices, Environmental Responsibility, Fair Corporate Operating Practices, Consumer Protection, and Contribution to Sustainable Development.

TJSL & SME Founding Manager Ismiyati said that the SNI 26000 Awareness training is expected to form awareness in each work division to implement Social Responsibility so that it can improve the quality of internal and external life of the company in accordance with universal values.

"This training opens awareness to implement Social Responsibility comprehensively in each division. For example, the procurement division needs to be aware of the use of domestic component levels (TKDN), as well as faster payments for MSME vendors. This is all the scope of ISO 26000 implementation," concluded Ismiyati.
