Collaboration of IDM & BPKP DIY Strengthens Good Corporate Governance

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko or InJourney Destination Management in collaboration with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta held Technical Guidance on Risk Management, Good Corporate Governance (GCG), and Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI) Capabilities in the Ratu Boko Meeting Room, from 19-21 June 2024.

The Risk Management and Good Corporate Governance Technical Guidance attended by all work divisions aims to improve business line compliance with legislation and mitigate risks that could hinder the company's vision, mission, goals, and targets.

This activity was opened directly by the Director of Finance, Risk Management & HR of InJourney Destination Management Mohamad Nur Sodiq together with the Head of the DIY BPKP Representative Office Setya Nugraha. In his speech, Mohamad Nur Sodiq said that the purpose of this training was to improve understanding and competence on the importance of risk management, Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and improving SPI capabilities.

"The understanding of all IDM personnel needs to be improved because we see that the implementation of GCG, risk management, and compliance is something that is mandatory and very principled for the operational foundation of our business," he explained.

Mohamad Nur Sodiq emphasized the importance of implementing good governance for all company activities. Not only just fulfilling regulations, the need for Governance, risk management, and compliance is an absolute must to present work professionalism.

"For the implementation of the entire process related to GRC, we are good, but not yet satisfied. We continue to improve things, we organize everything, infrastructure, systems, and later will be backed up with IT-based digitalization," he explained.

Head of BPKP DIY Representative Setya Nugraha said there are two types of risks, downside risk and upside risk. Downside risk is a risk that thwarts the achievement of goals. While upside risk is a risk that needs to be taken and has a positive impact on achieving company goals.

"We must capture this upside risk. If investment opportunities are left unchecked, not only will the goals not be achieved, but TWC will not shine any brighter. This is what we may need to highlight. So, for this upside risk, we must also execute, not mitigate it anymore," he explained.

Meanwhile, Corporate Governance & Risk Management Group Head Cahyo Sunarko said that the implementation of SPI risk and capability translation itself has been carried out by IDM. The implementation of this technical guidance is expected to increase capabilities, improve competence and professionalism of employee performance.

"Through this technical guidance, it will increase the scoring index and of course the understanding of all people in IDM regarding risk management, GCG and SPI capabilities. To the team from BPKP DIY, thank you for helping us in improving risk management, GCB and SPI capabilities to further improve the perspective in improving IDM's goals," he concluded.
