Collaboration to Advance MSMEs in the Borobudur Area

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (PT TWC) has established cooperation with PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Tengah (Bank Jateng) in the provision and utilization of banking products and services.

The collaboration is in the context of developing Borobudur Art Village while also improving the class of the MSMEs within it.

The cooperation was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Acting President Director of Bank Jateng Irianto Harko Saputro and Director of Operations and Services of PT TWC, Mardijono Nugroho at Balkondes, Magelang Regency, Thursday (4/7). Present were Acting Regent of Magelang Sepyo Achanto and his staff.

Acting President Director of Bank Jateng, Irianto said, his party has an obligation to improve the welfare of the community through banking access, both savings and credit distribution. This is also in accordance with the shared hope that Bank Jateng can support the economy in Central Java, especially in Magelang.

He appreciated PT TWC for giving trust to Bank Jateng, so that a good, synergistic, and harmonious cooperation could be established. "In the future, we hope that with the signing of this memorandum of understanding, it will be an open door for a number of cooperation between Bank Jateng and PT TWC," he said.

To start the collaboration, the party provided Micro Business Game (MBG) training to 100 traders from Borobudur Art Village, Kujon Hamlet, Magelang Regency.

Participants were divided into 5 classes and held in 3 different places, namely at Balkondes Borobudur, Balkondes Bumiharjo, and Warung Gali Pensiun.

"It is hoped that Borobudur Art Village Traders will benefit from understanding business management in accordance with good business management principles and have an impact on business progress and improvement. In terms of capital, if possible, traders can apply for credit, especially the People's Business Credit (KUR) program," he explained.

On this occasion, Bank Jateng symbolically provided Super Micro KUR financing of IDR 40 million to 4 traders in Borobudur Art Village, Kujon Hamlet, IDR 10 million each.

In order to support the implementation of Non-Cash Transaction (NCT) in the operational area of PT TWC, Bank Jateng is also present through the opening of QRIS Merchant and cheap redemption of one liter of cooking oil for one rupiah using QRIS at Bima Mobile Bank Jateng for traders participating in MBG training.

Director of Operations and Services of PT TWC, Mardijono Nugroho welcomed this collaboration. This is in line with TWC's tagline "Trust" which means TWC must be able to gain trust from the community or visitors.

"Including banks must have a tagline of trust, so that customers and the public trust the bank. TWC here is tasked with facilitating everything in the area, both cooperation and others," he said.

A warm welcome and appreciation were also conveyed by Acting Regent of Magelang Sepyo Achanto. He hopes that this cooperation can continue to improve, become more solid, and always bring goodness, especially for MSMEs.

"I think this training is very useful for the future. MSMEs must be ready with a cashless payment system, one of which is through QRIS because in the future it will become commonplace. In the future, we can travel without having to bring a wallet, just through a cellphone, everything is done," he explained.

Sepyo added, between tourist destinations and MSMEs there must be good connectivity and synergy. So, there is interaction between tourists and products sold by MSMEs or street vendors.

"Tourism actors must create and condition that connectivity. Well, we in the government must also be involved in it and we will always support that synergy," he said.
