PT TWC CEO: The Existence of Borobudur Art Village Must Bring Better Social Impact
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko or InJourney Destination Management is preparing remaster plan or the restructuring of the Borobudur Temple destination area located in Magelang Regency, Central Java. One of the blueprints of this remasterplan process is the revitalization of the green area in zone II of Borobudur Temple and the development of the Borobudur Art Village.
The development of Borobudur Art Village and the revitalization of Borobudur Temple Zone II are expected to support the preservation of cultural sites, while increasing the comfort of tourists, both domestic and foreign. IDM's focus is not only on the economic aspect, but also on the environmental, social, and cultural aspects that exist in the local community.
"The existence of Borobudur Art Village must bring goodness, must bring... social impacts "which is better than before, especially for the people in the Borobudur area," explained PT TWC President Director Febrina Intan, Thursday (19/9/2024).
Borobudur Art Village presents a number of interesting areas, including art galleries, amphitheaters, museums, pendopo, and centers for UMKM products and typical crafts that can be used as authentic souvenirs characteristic of the Borobudur area. In addition, there are also public facilities such as culinary areas and local souvenir crafts, toilets, parking facilities with beautiful views and others.
“Right now we trials and errors. We hope that tourists will make transactions, buy souvenirs. Not everything will run automatically because this is a new habit. We are in the process, we evaluate every week. We hope that soon in the next 5 days, concluded gate can be resolved, ticketing area can fully operate here," he explained.
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko conducted a trial operation of tourist vehicle parking to the Borobudur Museum and Art Village (KSB), Magelang, Central Java. The transition, which began on Monday, September 16, 2024, is a strategic step in order to improve visitor management (visitor management), to support higher quality tourism management in the Borobudur Temple area, which is a World Cultural Heritage Site.
Borobudur Museum and Art Village, located on the west side of the Borobudur Temple destination, offers various additional services for tourists, one of which is a vehicle parking facility connected to the Electric Vehicle (EV) Wara-Wiri service.
The initial pick-up point is at Borobudur Art Village and will take tourists to the main entrance. These EV vehicles will transport tourists from the parking area to the ticket counter. Additionally, within Zone II of Borobudur Temple, the EV pick-up point is located on the north side of the temple, near the exit leading to the Borobudur Art Village parking area.
During the operational trial period of parking in KSB, PT TWC provides EV Wara-Wiri service for free. This service operates every day from 06.30 to 17.30 WIB, and is expected to support the smooth flow of tourist visits through KSB to the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park destination.
