InJourney Hospitality House Supports Quality Tourism Development in Prambanan, Klaten

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko or InJourney Destination Management in collaboration with PT Angkasa Pura I Yogyakarta International Airport held a prime service training entitled InJourney Hospitality House (IHH) for tourism actors in Prambanan District, Klaten Regency, Central Java. The activity, which took place from 15-17 October 2024, aimed to train service skills with typical hospitality to local tourism actors to accelerate the development of a quality tourism ecosystem in the Prambanan area, Klaten.

This training was attended by 120 participants consisting of traders in the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park area as well as tourism actors, UMKM actors, village officials, BUMDes members, PKK members, from four villages in Prambanan District, namely Pereng Village, Bugisan Village, Kebondalem Kidul Village, and Tlogo Village, Prambanan. Taking place at Joglo Paseban Plaosan, Bugisan Village, Prambanan, Klaten, the participants were given theoretical and practical materials related to the hospitality mindset, effective communication methods, instilling neat and clean habits, how to behave and build a positive mental attitude to provide excellent service.

Corporate Secretary Group Head of PT TWC Ryan Sakti said that this training is a form of the company's social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) to participate in improving the Human Resources (HR) of tourism business actors who have an impact on the sustainability of the local tourism ecosystem in the Prambanan area.

"The Indonesian government is currently paying special attention to the tourism sector as one of the sources of economic growth that is expected to create great economic benefits. This needs to be supported by improving human resources as the main point of developing quality tourism in Indonesia," he explained.

InJourney Hospitality House is a space to develop and improve the competence and potential of each individual. IHH, which brings together tourism actors and MSMEs in one meeting place, is also expected to foster a collaborative space between various parties. This is expected to help improve the standard of living and economy of the tourism ecosystem in Prambanan.

"Through the involvement of all stakeholders, we can know each other what can be supported. Hopefully, collaboration to advance tourism, especially in Prambanan, can be improved and improve the standard of living for the community," he explained.

Head of Tourism and Creative Economy Division of the Culture, Youth, Sports and Tourism Office of Klaten Regency, Dwi Murwanti, said that through Presidential Decree Number 88 of 2024, Prambanan District is included in the Development of Tourism in the Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan National Tourism Destination. As the gateway for tourists from Central Java to Yogyakarta, Prambanan is a strategic area that has a lot of tourism potential, especially the cultural heritage sites in it.

"This collaborative effort between the Regional Government and BUMN is expected to improve tourism, especially in Prambanan, so that tourism can progress further, which will have an impact on improving the economy and welfare of the people in Prambanan," he explained.

Stakeholder Relations Department Division Head Yogyakarta International Airport Ike Yutiane said that IHH also encourages intense communication, collaboration and involvement of various parties to support a quality and sustainable tourism ecosystem.

"Of course, this program can help provide contributions from companies to encourage the development of tourism human resources needed to provide excellent service at tourist destinations," he explained.

Bugisan Village Head Heru Nugroho hopes that activities like this can be sustainable, especially to support the development of tourist destinations managed by each village around Prambanan Temple.

"Through this activity, we hope that participants can understand how to receive guests well with hospitality and good service. Hopefully each participant can practice their knowledge so that it can give a deep impression to tourists and have a positive impact on the development of the surrounding village economy," he explained.

The development of the Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan National Tourism Destination is carried out with a holistic, integrative approach and is expected to be a driver of local economic growth and encourage the development of tourism destinations in the surrounding areas.

"So that the opportunities for income and employment for the local community are increasingly wide open and can create great economic benefits. This needs to be supported by increasing human resources as the main point of developing quality tourism in Indonesia," he concluded.
