Commemorating World Anti-Corruption Day, IDM Invites SMA I Prambanan Klaten Students to Declare Anti-Corruption Behavior

InJourney Destination Management (IDM) together with 360 students of SMA I Prambanan Klaten declared anti-corruption behavior on World Anti-Corruption Day on December 9, 2024. This activity aims to instill the values ​​of integrity and anti-corruption behavior from an early age to students, in order to form a younger generation that is more honest, transparent, and committed to justice.

The anti-corruption socialization was filled by speakers from the Center for Anti-Corruption Studies (PUKAT) of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and was attended by all grade X students and teachers. In the activity, students were given an understanding of corrupt behavior, forms of corruption and the negative impacts of corruption on the nation and state. Participants are expected to be able to raise awareness of the dangers of corrupt behavior in everyday life.

Principal of SMA I Prambanan Klaten Nur Cahyo Budi Jatmiko said that this activity is an introduction for students to the forms of corruption, the dangers and impacts on teenagers and how to overcome the culture of corruption. 

"We appreciate this activity so that the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day can be carried out in our institution. Students are invited to interpret the existence related to corruption. So that the hope is that the children are motivated, and we hope there is input for us, so that we can bring SMA I Prambanan to a better future," he explained.

During the socialization, participants were invited to actively participate in discussions on ways to prevent corruption, both on a small scale, starting from themselves, in the school environment and in a wider scope. After the socialization, the participants then made a declaration by signing an anti-corruption commitment together.

Resource person from Pukat UGM and Lecturer of UGM Faculty of Law Hasrul Halili introduced forms of behavior and culture of corruption, its dangers and impacts on life. He also gave real examples of how corruption can harm society and hinder the progress of the nation.

"Let's participate in the anti-corruption movement to eradicate corruption, in the field of prevention. One of them is to become a character student, a student who is honest and has integrity. Not only in words, but also in actions," he explained.

One of the socialization participants, Magdalena Ariani from class X said that the collaboration between IDM, PUKAT UGM and SMA I Prambanan is a form of education for students to become anti-corruption students. She hopes that students can behave anti-corruption by preventing and practicing it in everyday life.

"We can prevent it, by having moral knowledge we can practice it in concrete situations. For that, I am committed not to lie to my parents. This is something I will do because I am an anti-corruption student," he explained.

Meanwhile, Corporate Secretary Group Head Ryan Sakti hopes that by learning anti-corruption behavior, it will instill an attitude of integrity in young people. 

"The attitude of integrity is doing the right thing, even though no one is watching us. Not cheating, doing the task as it should be and the most important thing is to be sure honestly, with the integrity, become a good person and have an impact," he concluded.
