IDM Supports Increasing Productivity of Village Waste Processing

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko or InJourney Destination Management (IDM) handed over one unit of waste shredding machine or gibrig machine to the Waste Processing Facility–Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (TPS3R) Karya Sentosa in Bugisan Village, Prambanan, Klaten, Central Java, Wednesday (18/12/2024). The handover of the gibrig machine was carried out symbolically by TJSL and SME Funding Division Head IDM Ismiyati to Bugisan Village Head Heru Nugroho.

The provision of this gibrig machine aims to simplify and accelerate the waste processing process, especially organic waste, which will be used as a material for making compost at the Karya Sentosa TPS3R owned by the Bugisan Village Government, Prambanan.

"The waste processed at TPS3R Karya Sentosa per day can reach 2 tons with a population of around 600 families. Of course, with the support of PT TWC, this can help increase the productivity of waste processing into organic fertilizer that we produce," explained Heru Nugroho.

This gibrig machine or automatic waste sorting tool has a waste processing capacity of 100–400 kg/hour. In addition to sorting waste, the gibrig machine also functions to destroy organic waste, resulting in waste with a fine texture, or waste pulp.

The gibrig machine will destroy organic waste and change its texture to a fine porridge so that it can be used as maggot feed or compost material.

Before entering the gibrig machine, officers at TPS3R Karya Sentosa first sort the waste that can be processed by the gibrig machine. Not all types of inorganic waste can be put into the processing machine, especially glass, cloth, sanitary napkins and styrofoam.

After that, the officer puts the waste into the gibrig machine which then becomes a waste pulp that is ready to be processed into compost. Compost fertilizer products from TPS3R Karya Sentosa are used by farmers in Bugisan Village.

TJSL and SME Funding Division Head IDM Ismiyati said that TPS3R Karya Sentosa in Bugisan Village is an integrated waste processing site, where household waste is recycled into compost that is useful for agricultural and plantation land in the surrounding area.

"This is our commitment and commitment to developing the potential for profitable integrated waste management that is also in accordance with the concept of environmental sustainability and sustainable tourism values," he concluded.
