Building the 10th Decent Home in Sleman Regency, InJourney Destinations Helps Tackle Extreme Poverty
Deputy Regent of Sleman, Danang Maharsa inaugurated the 10th Decent Home in Sleman Regency through the assistance of Social and Environmental Responsibility owned by InJourney Destinations or formerly known as PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (PT TWC). Mr. Muhammad Salim, a resident of Tulung Hamlet, Tamanmartani, Kalasan, Sleman, Yogyakarta was fortunate to be selected as a recipient of assistance that was worthy of support.
Accompanied by Corporate Secretary Group Head, InJourney Destinations Ryan Sakti, Friday (20/12/2024) the inauguration and handover of aid was marked by the signing of an inscription and the symbolic handover of house keys, which ended with a direct review by all invited guests.
Ryan Sakti, Corporate Secretary Group Head of InJourney Destinations said that the RTLH renovation program is a form of concern for the community, especially those in the immediate vicinity of the company or destination. This program is also in line with the values of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in poverty alleviation and improving the quality of life of the community around the company or the Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) destination.
“This program is one legacy as well as the company's serious commitment, because 10 houses have been built in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta from a total of 48 houses built in other areas. We are committed to continuing this program next year to be able to reach more, renovate uninhabitable houses especially in our destination areas," he explained.
Sleman Deputy Regent Danang Maharsa appreciated InJourney Destinations' steps with the RTLH renovation program which he said was a basic need for residents. This is in line with the Sleman Regency program to help meet the needs of a decent life for each of its residents.
"This uninhabitable housing program is an annual program. We have budgeted it in the APBD since 2021. However, we still need to collaborate with all parties to help eradicate uninhabitable houses in the community," he explained.
Mr. Muhammad Salim's 93-meter house is a decent home for his wife and children, equipped with 2 bedrooms, a living room and a toilet. This house provides a better quality of life and comfort. The man who works as a Kaum Rois Desa hopes that more Salims will benefit from this assistance to be able to live more decently than before.
"We are very happy, because we get the best program from TWC. May all be blessed. and in the future, hopefully programs like this can reach a wider community, so that togetherness between us all, the nature of helping each other and our mutual cooperation to get a more decent life," said the man who is familiarly called Salim.
InJourney Destinations management ensures aspects of housing suitability, including building durability, sanitation access, and adequate building area, in accordance with Law Number 1 of 2011 concerning Housing and Residential Areas which regulates safety, health, and affordability standards for habitable housing.
