Minister of Culture Gives Award to Best Regional Pavilion at TMII's 50th Anniversary Celebration
To enliven the 50th Anniversary of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia gave the Pradana Nitya Budaya award to the best Regional Pavilion at TMII. This award was given directly by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, at the 50th Anniversary event at the Keong Mas courtyard, TMII, East Jakarta, Sunday (20/4/2025).
On that occasion, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon appreciated the role of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in efforts to promote and preserve regional culture. He said that TMII has become a showcase of the richness of Nusantara culture, a place for various arts and cultural activities, as well as a means of cross-generational education.
This was conveyed at the Pradana Nitya Budaya award ceremony for a number of the best regional pavilions at the 50th Anniversary celebration of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta, Sunday (20/4/2025). This award is a symbol of the government's appreciation for the active role of the pavilions in preserving the cultural richness of the archipelago and introducing it to the younger generation and the international world.
The Pradana Nitya Budaya TMII Award is given to selected pavilions as a form of appreciation to the local government for its contribution in developing regional pavilions as cultural preservation entities.
"We hope that these pavilions will be better in the future in terms of appearance, activities, and of course, they need regional heads who care and are committed to advancing culture," explained Minister of Culture Fadli Zon.
The Pradana Nitya Budaya Award is also a form of recognition of the ongoing efforts of local governments in preserving, promoting, and developing cultural heritage in their respective regions.
The jury for this award consists of Bambang Paningron, Gilang Ramadhan, Iskandar Eko, Annisa Rengganis, and Arie Prasetyo who conducted assessments at 32 regional pavilions at TMII to determine the award recipients.
The jury's assessment includes physical aspects such as building management and traditional building environment, landscape, excellence in display layout, completeness of facilities, clarity of directions, and provision of information.
In addition, the jury assessed aspects of governance and human resources, including optimizing the use of budget allocations for cultural preservation efforts.
Based on the assessment results, the jury determined the South Kalimantan Pavilion as the first best pavilion, Bali as the second best pavilion, East Java as the third best pavilion, and East Kalimantan as the most favorite pavilion.
The award ceremony for the best pavilion was held as part of a series of events for the Nusantara People's Festival in commemoration of TMII's 50th Anniversary, which took place at Plaza Keong Mas, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, East Jakarta, Sunday (20/4) evening.
Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro said that TMII has gone through an extraordinary journey and faced various challenges and changes.
"For 50 years, TMII has been a miniature of Indonesia's diversity and has succeeded in... survive as one of the important components in maintaining environmental unity and integrity, which strengthens national identification together with other tourist destinations that we have," he said.
InJourney Destination Management President Director, Febrina Intan added that her party wants to build a sustainable tourism ecosystem in the coming years to provide an indelible experience for visitors.
According to him, as a favorite tourist destination, TMII also has a role in providing education to the community, especially school children.
"We want them to know more about Indonesia, its regions, and its natural and cultural riches. Traveling is not just about having fun, but there must be something to bring home and remember," he concluded.
