TMII's 50th Anniversary Celebration Series Enlivened by Nusantara People's Festival
The series of celebrations for the 50th Anniversary of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) was enlivened by the Nusantara People's Festival which consisted of performances of 50 Nusantara cultural attractions, a Nusantara cultural parade and a mountain of blessings.
The Nusantara People's Festival was also enlivened by performances of the Nusantara Children's Dance, stories of TMII's 50-year journey at Tirta Cerita, and a people's party stage featuring proud musicians from the country, such as Ari Lasso, Vierratale, Geisha and Feel Koplo.
TMII President Director Intan Ayu Kartika said that tens of thousands of visitors who came from 15.00 WIB until the evening did not need to pay for entrance tickets. Intan explained that in the commemoration of TMII's 50th Anniversary, visitors were also presented with various interesting events in a series of activities entitled "Pesta Rakyat Nusantara 50 Tahun TMII Bersama Menjelajah Cerita Baru.
"In order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of TMII, yesterday we made the entrance fee or ticket free. On Saturday we also provide a special promo in the form of a 50 percent discount on entrance tickets," he said, Monday (21/4).
InJourney Destination Management President Director Febrina Intan said that her party wants to build a sustainable tourism ecosystem in the coming years to present an experience that sticks for visitors. According to her, as a favorite tourist destination, TMII also has a role in providing education to the community, especially for school children.
"We want them to know more about Indonesia, its regions, and its natural and cultural riches. Traveling is not just about having fun, but there must be something to bring home and remember," he said.
Meanwhile, one of the tourists, Tarwati (45) said she was very satisfied enjoying the free entertainment held to celebrate TMII's 50th anniversary.
"I deliberately came with friends at night because many famous singers were performing," he said.
