IDM Encourages Community Empowerment through Cash-Intensive Work Program

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko or InJourney Destination Management is holding a Cash for Work (PKT) program for the construction of road embankments in Dawung Hamlet, Bokoharjo Village, Prambanan, Sleman, Yogyakarta.

Social and Environmental Responsibility activities aim to improve community welfare through empowering its citizens while improving public facilities in the form of road embankments in the community environment.

The construction of the road embankment in the form of a retaining wall aims to maintain the stability of the land on the side of the road and protect the road body from damage and ensure the safety of road users. Dukuh Dawung Prambanan Aris Gunadi explained that the condition of the repaired road had experienced erosion due to being eroded by rainwater, thus posing a risk to road users passing by.

"Because the road body has been eroded for a long time, due to heavy rain. Therefore, the construction of a road embankment is carried out, so that road users will be safe and there is no risk at all," he explained.

The main access road located on a steep bend connects the Dukuh Dawung area which is inhabited by around 400 residents. In addition, this road is also the main access to the Keraton Ratu Boko destination.

According to Aris Gunadi, the Tunai Padat Karya (PKT) program also helps improve the economy of its residents. A total of 26 Dawung residents were helped by participating in this PKT program.

"Generally, our residents work as farmers, farm laborers, entrepreneurs, livestock breeders, and craftsmen. We also involve mothers, which can increase their household income," he explained.

Internal Audit Group Head InJourney Destination Management Aryono Hendro Malyanto said that this program also encourages mutual cooperation activities, in line with local cultural values that uphold the spirit of togetherness. In addition, this program also encourages positive impacts, especially in encouraging the economy of residents.

"Hopefully through this activity, in addition to encouraging the eradication of environmental problems, it also increases togetherness between residents, and also between residents and us. This harmonious relationship hopefully provides comfort for all parties," he concluded.
