Borobudur Art Village Traders' Efforts to Present Typical Indonesian Hospitality through InJourney Hospitality House
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko or InJourney Destination Management in collaboration with PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) presents InJourney Hospitality House (IHH) training for 120 business actors in Borobudur Art Village, Magelang, Central Java, from 24-26 June 2025.
This three-day intensive training is a form of effort to improve the quality standards of service in the local tourism ecosystem through cultural expressions and experiences through locals in tourist destination areas in Indonesia. InJourney Hospitality House is a holding program of PT Aviasi dan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney which aims to introduce local Indonesian hospitality to the world.
Commercial Group Head of PT Taman Wisata Borobudur AY Suhartanto in his speech said that IHH training is part of the acceleration that occurs in Borobudur as one of the super priority destinations in Indonesia. Through this, Borobudur is required to improve competency standards in terms of service, business processes, innovation and supporting facilities at the destination.
"Ladies and gentlemen are the front guard to be able to give a good impression to visitors. Because Borobudur is not only a DPSP, but also a World Heritage. All eyes, both the central government and local governments, are very concern with Borobudur. Hopefully, through this service improvement, it can increase the number of visitors who come and can have an economic impact," he explained.
Stakeholder Relation Department Head of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia Yogyakarta International Airport Ike Yutianne said that this training is a form of commitment in encouraging national tourism post-pandemic and creating a better quality tourism ecosystem. IHH is also expected to be a place to strengthen capacity and improve services for local tourism actors by providing an unforgettable experience through typical Indonesian hospitality.
"The IHH program is specifically designed to provide applicable and relevant training to form tourism human resources that are strong, competitive and able to present memorable, world-class tourism experiences for all tourists, especially at the Borobudur destination," he continued.
IHH training trains participants to be ready to welcome tourists by presenting typical Indonesian hospitality as one of the basics of implementing excellent service to realize quality tourism. Participants receive training supplies such as how to behave, effective communication in service (hospitality communication).
In addition, participants are provided with English, French and Japanese language training. This language training is a necessity for business actors in KSB to welcome foreign tourists who come according to the largest percentage of foreign tourists.
One of the business actors in Borobudur Art Village, Mudalyono, said that the InJourney Hospitality House (IHH) training is useful for providing the best service to domestic and foreign guests.
