InJourney Destination Management Supports the Sojiwan Temple Festival

The 7th Sojiwan Temple Festival was held again with great enthusiasm in Kebondalem Kidul Village, Prambanan District, Klaten, on Sunday (July 13, 7). Held in the Sojiwan Temple area, the event featured a spectacular performance, the Prambanan Ramayana Ballet, captivating thousands of spectators and igniting a spirit of cultural preservation.

The dance drama, featuring the story of Hanoman Obong, was performed by dancers who regularly perform at the Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan Temple. This performance, presented exclusively by InJourney Destination Management, is part of a collaboration and support for the development of local arts and culture through a village cultural festival in the Taman Wisata Candi area. 

"This is certainly part of our commitment to supporting the development of local arts and culture in the surrounding area. We encourage this to become a sustainable tourism ecosystem," explained Ismiyati, CSR and SME Funding Division Head at IDM.

Guntur Adi Dermawan, the head of the Sojiwan Temple Festival Committee, stated that the festival, now in its seventh year, aims to promote the diverse culture of Kebondalem Kidul, Prambanan, Klaten. One of its rich artistic and cultural heritage is the Babad Sanjiwana Dance Drama.

"This dance drama is based on a story fragment from the reliefs of Sojiwan Temple. The play, which tells the story of the downfall of arrogance, is depicted through the characters of a bird and a turtle. The dancers are residents of Kebondalem Kidul Village," said Guntur.

Klaten Regent Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo expressed his full support for the preservation of local culture. He stated that Sojiwan Temple has significant and strategic potential for development at the national and even international levels.

"We will continue to promote Sojiwan, not only locally, but also at the national and international levels," said Mas Hamenang.

The Acting Village Head of Kebondalem Kidul, Daru Purnomo, stated that this festival represents the community's gratitude for their ancestral cultural heritage. He hopes the noble values of the Sojiwan site can be applied in everyday life.

"The legacy of the Sojiwan Temple has inspired us to hold this seventh festival. May it be a manifestation of our gratitude for the abundance of blessings God has bestowed upon this village, which we will continue to explore and develop going forward," he concluded.
