Cultural Parade and Gunungan Celebration Enliven PT TWC's 45th Anniversary

Hundreds of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko employees participated in a cultural procession carrying gunungan and begalan to celebrate the 45th Anniversary, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Participants walked 4,5 kilometers from the PT TWC Head Office heading east past the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park destination and exited the area towards Tlogo Village which is located east of Prambanan Temple.

The cultural procession passed through four hamlets and five neighborhood associations (RTs) in Tlogo Village, Prambanan, Klaten. Villagers welcomed the procession with traditional performances of the "gejog lesung" (lesung) dance and traditional dishes such as gethuk (rice cake), tiwul (rice cake), ginger tea, and herbal drinks made by the local community. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (IDM) presented gifts in the form of "bancakan" (rice feast) to the surrounding community.

At the end of the procession, held at Rakai Pikatan Field in front of PT TWC Headquarters, residents awaited the procession to storm the gunungan (mountains) and begalan (throwaways). Before long, the gunungan, consisting of fresh vegetables and fruit, became a hot commodity for residents around PT TWC Headquarters. This demonstrated the synergy between the destination and the surrounding community.

Before carrying out the cultural procession, all IDM personnel participated in the tumpeng cutting procession carried out by IDM Main Commissioner Kacung Marijan and IDM Main Director Febrina Intan.

PT TWC President Commissioner Kacung Marijan stated that the spirit of the 45th anniversary aligns with the spirit of the year 45, Indonesia's independence anniversary. Kacung Marijan hopes that TWC can play a role in achieving a Golden Indonesia by 2045.

"Hopefully, we can all lead TWC to become a golden organization together. Hopefully, through this golden age, our steps will be moved towards a golden Indonesia. Our organization, our company, will become even more extraordinary, increasingly advanced. We will all be blessed, and the organization will be blessed, especially in the tourism industry that we all love," he explained.

PT TWC President Director Febrina Intan hopes that at the age of 45, PT TWC will be in line with the spirit of the year 45 which is a sign to break free from all difficulties, all pressures and all challenges.

"I believe that after today, we will soar far, we will be much better than before. We will support each other, not tear each other down. We will work together even harder. Because whatever we do today is for the days ahead," he explained. 

Through the spirit of Migunani Tumraping Liyan, Febrina Intan invites all InJourney Destination Management employees to spread kindness and benefits to all parties, especially the surrounding community.

The series of events celebrating PT TWC's 45th anniversary continued with a quiz competition between work units, fostering a spirit of collaboration. Participants competed on specific knowledge of the company and global tourism. The quiz competition was enlivened by cheers from each work unit defending their respective teams and a sense of belonging among IDM employees.

In addition, IDM members also participated in the mewiru jarik competition. Mewiru jarik is a technique of folding the edges of a jarik cloth vertically from the hips to the feet. This technique aims to neaten and shape the jarik cloth when worn, which is part of preserving Javanese culture.

PT TWC also offers a free entry ticket promotion for tourists who have birthdays in July and come to the Taman Wisata Candi destination on July 15, 2025.
