The Deputy Regent of Magelang, Sahid, together with the Director of PT Taman Wisata Borobudur, Mardijono Nugroho, Deputy Secretary General of Senopati Nusantara, Nurjianto, and the ranks of the Borobudur sub-district coordination forum (forkopimcam) opened the Tosan Aji Exhibition and Exchange entitled Ngudi Kawruh Sejatining Tosan Aji.

The exhibition, held on August 29–31, 2025 at the Borobudur Art Village, Magelang, Central Java, featured around 51 sellers and craftsmen of keris equipment from all regions on the island of Java.

The Deputy Regent of Magelang, Sahid, said that this exhibition was not just an exhibition of heirlooms, but an effort to seek and deepen knowledge through Tosan Aji, a valuable object that has high historical, cultural, and spiritual value.

"Tosan Aji, especially the keris, is not just a physical weapon; it's a symbol of civilization, philosophy, and national identity. Behind its blade lies a story of leadership, courage, and wisdom," said Sahid.

The Chief Executive of the Satriyatama Keris Exhibition and Exchange, Agustinus Sumadiyono, said that the exhibition and exchange of tosan aji, which is supported by the National Union of Tosan Aji Preservation (Senapati) Nusantara, aims to build awareness, involvement, and a sense of belonging to a shared cultural ecosystem.

Including providing knowledge to the next generation about the ins and outs of the keris as a traditional weapon that has a high history and spiritual value.

"I hope that Jangkep will understand customs, including tucking in a keris when wearing Javanese clothing," explained Agustinus Sumadiyono.

Deputy Secretary General of Senopati Nusantara, Nurjianto, said that the National Union of Tosan Aji Nusantara Preservators or (Senapati Nusantara) has given birth to a national organization which now has 87 associations in Indonesia and in several regions.

"This is an independent organization that was truly born from the grassroots, an organization founded by a group of keris-loving friends with a vision and mission of how to develop and preserve Tosan Aji Nusantara," said Nurjianto.

He hopes that exhibition activities like this can run every year and always be enthusiastic, prioritizing harmony and mutual cooperation so that in the future we can provide an education to our generation where the keris has been recognized by UNESCO.

"This is where we as a community of keris lovers have an extraordinary task to provide deep-rooted understandings about keris according to the theme of this exhibition "Ngudi Kawruh Sejatining Tosan Aji," he concluded.
