IDM Collaborates with GlobalTix to Enhance Global Marketing Through Connections with 12.000 Global Travel Agents
InJourney Destination Management, in collaboration with GlobalTix, is working to strengthen the international standing of Indonesian heritage destinations. This was realized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between IDM and GlobalTix at Lumbini Park, Borobudur Temple Tourism Park complex, Magelang, Central Java, on Tuesday (October 7, 2025).
IDM Commercial Director Hetty Herawati and GlobalTix Chief Operating Officer Chan Chee Kong signed the memorandum of understanding. This strategic collaboration marks a progressive step in the distribution of information and marketing of the heritage sites of the Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko Temples. This is expected to facilitate global tourists without compromising the preservation of the cultural and spiritual values of these UNESCO World Heritage sites.
IDM Commercial Director Hetty Herawati stated that Borobudur Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Southeast Asia's most iconic cultural heritage landmarks. This collaboration represents a major step in modernizing and expanding Borobudur's global reach, making it more accessible and accessible, while preserving its heritage.
"Borobudur Temple is a symbol of Indonesian heritage and pride. Partnering with GlobalTix allows us to expand our global reach, provide a seamless booking experience, and invite more tourists to Magelang," he explained.
Hetty Herawati stated that through the GlobalTix network, which reaches more than 12.000 travel agents and online platforms worldwide, heritage destinations like Borobudur will become more widely known and accessible to international tourists. This step will also help regulate the flow of visitors, ensuring a comfortable experience while maintaining the site's sustainability.
This collaboration is also aimed at strengthening the digital tourism ecosystem of Jogja-Semar (Yogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang). The goal is to extend tourists' length of stay (length of stay) by presenting more supporting activities and attractions.
"We want Borobudur, Prambanan, and surrounding destinations to be integrated into a single digital ecosystem. Tourists won't just come for a day or two, but will stay longer, thanks to the wide range of activities and experiences," he continued.
GlobalTix Indonesia General Manager Helmy Pietersz said this partnership will facilitate collaboration with major online travel agencies like Agoda, Trip.com, and GetYourGuide in Europe. They can gain direct access, competitive pricing, real-time availability, and instant confirmation for Borobudur tourism products.
