InJourney Hospitality House in Parangtritis Collaborates to Improve Hospitality at Destinations
InJourney Destination Management, in collaboration with InJourney Airports Yogyakarta International Airport, hosted the InJourney Hospitality House (IHH) in Parangtritis, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The three-day event, from November 4–6, 2025, was attended by 120 participants, including tourism activists, village officials, youth organizations, and MSMEs in the Parangtritis tourist area.
This training aims to provide authentic local hospitality and excellent service to visiting tourists. InJourney Hospitality House also represents a concrete effort to develop tourism human resources (HR) in leading tourism destinations in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
IDM Sustainability Division Head Ismiyati stated that sustainable tourism is achieved through collaboration between various stakeholders in the destination area. Support from relevant stakeholders, including the government, the community, and other tourism stakeholders, can enable sustainable tourism, providing benefits and improving well-being.
"Collaboration is key, because without community support, tourism will not be sustainable. Without professional tourism operators, the tourism experience will be diminished. Without environmental protection, tourism attractions will be lost," he explained.
InJourney Destination Management itself has held 22 InJourney Hospitality House trainings in various regencies, including Sleman, Kulon Progo, Purworejo, Klaten, and Magelang, with a total of 1980 participants since 2023.
This training is presented to improve the quality of human resources through training. hospitality mindset for tourism activists and business actors in the Borobudur Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP) area. The training consists of four main modules: professional service attitudes, communication in service (hospitality communication), product and environmental cleanliness, and a way of dressing that meets tourism standards.
CSR & General Service of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia Regional Office IV Ike Yutiane said that Indonesian hospitality is serving wholeheartedly where services must be standardized and similar, both at the airport, at tourist destinations to business actors and MSMEs.

The Head of the Bantul Regency Tourism Office, Saryadi, stated that the tourism industry ranks third among the main economic drivers in Bantul Regency. Support from various parties to increase tourism capacity in Bantul is needed to boost the regional economy. This can be achieved through the promotion of sustainable tourism at tourist destinations.
"That's why sustainable tourism is being promoted, tourism that doesn't damage the environment, tourism that considers the sustainability of tourism itself. One way to achieve sustainable tourism is by... hospitality "What we provide to tourists. Our service, our hospitality, and the natural activities of the local people are key to sustainability," he explained.
One of the IHH participants, Aminah (55), said the training aligns with the future development of the Parangtritis destination, where the southern route will be integrated from East Java to West Java. According to the restaurant and catering owner, the Parangtritis area needs support by improving the capacity of its tourism operators, particularly in providing excellent guest service.
"The most important thing to do in the Parangtritis area is to organize it to ensure comfort and safety for tourists. One way to do this is through training in local hospitality, such as the IHH program. Hopefully, this training will prepare tourism stakeholders, such as hotel employees, homestays, destination operators, restaurants, and tourist jeep operators, to provide better service. This will ultimately result in increased revenue," he concluded.
