Saka Yoga Festival Introduces Holistic Healing at Prambanan Temple
Hundreds of yoga enthusiasts enlivened the 8th Saka Yoga Festival at Nandi Field, Prambanan Temple Tourism Park, Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Sunday (11/10/2025). This event was a collaboration between Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia, the Prambanan Temple Utilization Working Team of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, and InJourney Destination Management. Furthermore, this event was part of the opening of the Prambanan Shiva Festival, which will be held in January 2026.
The Saka Yoga Festival was officially opened by the Director of Hindu Religious Affairs, I Gusti Made Sunartha. In his remarks, he emphasized the practice of yoga, which combines physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation to provide holistic benefits for the body and mind.
“Yoga has been proven beneficial for thousands of years and is a path to self-balance,” he said.
The General Secretary of PHDI Central, I Ketut Budiasa, said that yoga, which originates from Vedic teachings, is now increasingly relevant amidst the increasing uncertainty and pressures of modern life.
"Yoga isn't just about fitness, but rather a journey toward self-awareness and balance. The Saka Yoga Festival is part of the 2026 National Dharma Santi series and is expected to bring positive energy to all participants," he said.
GM Prambanan and Ratu Boko Ratno Timur expressed their appreciation for the activities that have been running for the eighth year.
"This event is a highly anticipated event. We hope this festival will continue regularly and have a positive impact on tourism and cultural preservation," he concluded.
