InJourney Destination Management is Ready to Welcome 11.500 Runners from 38 Countries to the 2025 Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon.

InJourney Destination Management ensures operational readiness at the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park during the Borobudur Marathon event, which will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025. This readiness will involve adjusting services, particularly for tourist visits to the main courtyard of Borobudur Temple, which will open at 11:09.00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

IDM adjusted the Borobudur Temple structure tour service, starting with Session II at 9:30 a.m. WIB. Meanwhile, Borobudur Tourism Park suspended the Borobudur Sunrise service on that day.

"Various preparations are being made to ensure the best possible experience and smooth traffic flow for all Borobudur Marathon participants from 38 countries. Intensive coordination is being carried out with various relevant parties, including the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Transportation Agency, to ensure safety, comfort, and cleanliness," explained Gistang Panutur, Commercial Director of InJourney Destination Management, in Borobudur, Magelang, on Saturday (11/15/2025).

IDM opened parking at KSB at 1:30 a.m. WIB to accommodate initial preparations. Parking capacity at KSB has been optimized to accommodate high vehicle volumes, with space for 500 cars, 90 buses (equivalent to 200 cars), and a parallel area for an additional 150 cars and 400 motorcycles.

"Having tens of thousands of people attend at one time is certainly a challenge. We're improving services, especially at the Borobudur Art Village, the main parking area. We're prioritizing accessibility to ensure the smooth running of all participants and the event," he continued.

The Borobudur Marathon will feature 11.500 runners from 38 countries. Based on this figure, the Indonesian Marathon Association (IDM) is targeting 15.000 tourists during the marathon. The event is expected to significantly impact the local economy and boost the tourism ecosystem around Borobudur.

According to Gistang Panutur, the Borobudur Marathon serves as a platform to introduce Borobudur more widely to the international community. This positive momentum also has a positive impact on the regional economy.

"For this event, we have partners in West Java, including two thousand vendors in the Borobudur area, who are certainly impacted by the presence of 11.500 runners. But it's not just in West Java, but also in the surrounding areas, including homestays. We're also bringing MSME partners to Medang Market," he explained.

This activity involved a total of 200 participants, consisting of 100 runners and 100 yoga participants who were Borobudur Marathon participants from various regions, including local communities in Magelang and Yogyakarta.
