InJourney Destination Management Supports Capacity Building for MSMEs in the Prambanan Temple Area
InJourney Destination Management (IDM) is hosting the Ambara Budaya program, which aims to enhance the capacity of MSMEs and tourism support agencies in the Prambanan Temple and Ratu Boko Palace areas. This program aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs to support quality tourism activities in the Prambanan Temple and Ratu Boko Palace areas.
This activity was attended by 100 MSMEs from three sub-districts located in the area closest to Prambanan Temple and Ratu Boko Palace, including Prambanan Sub-district, Klaten, Central Java, consisting of Tlogo, Bugisan, Kokosan, Kebondalem Kidul, and Pereng Villages; Prambanan Sub-district, Sleman, Yogyakarta, namely Bokoharjo and Sambirejo Villages; and Tamanmartani Village in Kalasan Sub-district, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Participants consisted of MSMEs with products sold in the form of culinary, fashion (ecoprint batik, shibori) and services (tourism services, workshop salons).
"This agenda is a follow-up to our social mapping and potential efforts to empower residents in tourism, the creative economy, and their supporting activities. We hope this support will increase the capacity of business actors to support the implementation of quality tourism in the Prambanan area," explained Prambanan General Manager and Ratu Boko Ratno Timur when opening the agenda at the Bokoharjo Village Multipurpose Building in Prambanan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Monday (1/12/2025).
IDM Sustainability Division Head Ismiyati said that Ambara Budaya Capacity Building for MSMEs and Tourism Supporters in the Prambanan Temple and Ratu Boko Palace Areas is part of the economic pillar of the Cipta Ambara Budaya program which focuses on empowering MSMEs in the Prambanan Temple, Ratu Boko, and surrounding areas.
This activity is part of IDM's sustainability commitment and will be assessed using the method Social Return on Investment (SROI) to ensure that the benefits are truly felt by the community.
"This program also serves as a follow-up to the social mapping process conducted by IDM in the region. The material presented includes an introduction to business legality, market awareness", artificial intelligence materials for MSMEs, photos and packaging of MSME products," he explained.
In the introduction to business legality, participants are encouraged to obtain a Business Identification Number (NIB) as a legal document to facilitate licensing and other business assistance. This is done so that participants can obtain various permits, such as a PIRT certificate, a distribution permit for food and beverage products produced by home-based businesses, halal certification, and others.
"We also equip them with packaging skills and simple product photography, which is then processed using free artificial intelligence to enhance product presentation and sales. We hope this will enhance their knowledge so their products can sell better and be more readily accepted by the market," Ismiyati continued.
Increasingly open business opportunities were presented in market awareness materials, encouraging participants to be more open to future challenges. As MSMEs in Ring I of the World Heritage area, they were encouraged to become more aware of the increasingly open and challenging business potential.
The Head of Bokoharjo Village also expressed his appreciation for the event and expressed his hope that it would significantly impact the capacity of MSMEs in the Prambanan area, particularly those in the first ring of Prambanan Temple. He believes that strengthening MSMEs is crucial to supporting a sustainable tourism ecosystem.
"As the first ring of Prambanan Temple, the communities in our region play a strategic role in supporting tourism. We hope this training will increase the capacity of MSMEs to upgrade, strengthen product quality, and contribute more to the Prambanan tourism ecosystem," he said.
One of the participants, Rindang Irwina, said that this training was useful for her, especially in improving the legality and appearance of products that are more marketable, especially on social media.
"This training will enhance the product's appearance on our social media platforms, which will hopefully increase its appeal and marketability," he concluded.
