InJourney will hold a simultaneous prayer vigil for Sumatra at iconic national destinations in late 2025.
To conclude the 2025 year, the state-owned aviation and tourism holding company, PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney, held a joint prayer and a "moment of silence" simultaneously at all airports and iconic tourist destinations it manages across Indonesia. This activity was part of a series of New Year's celebrations that were carried out safely, orderly, and meaningfully. It also demonstrated InJourney's empathy and solidarity with the disaster-affected communities in Sumatra.
A joint prayer and "moment of silence" were held ahead of the New Year's Eve at several strategic InJourney assets, including major airports, The Mandalika in Lombok, The Nusa Dua in Bali, The Sanur Bali, The Golo Mori in Labuan Bajo, Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Sarinah in Jakarta. The entire event took place solemnly, involving destination managers, tenants, partners, and visitors.
InJourney's CEO, Maya Watono, stated that the closing of 2025 is a moment for collective reflection, not only to celebrate achievements but also to foster social awareness.
"Amidst the New Year's atmosphere, InJourney invites everyone to pause, bow their heads, and pray for our brothers and sisters in Sumatra affected by the disaster. This demonstrates our commitment that tourism brings not only joy but also empathy, solidarity, and humanitarian values," said Maya.
Throughout the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year holidays, InJourney has ensured that all celebrations and tourist activities at airports and destinations run optimally, safely, and comfortably. Various New Year's Eve celebrations at The Mandalika, Bali, Prambanan, TMII, Sarinah, and other destinations have been implemented with enhanced safety measures, visitor capacity controls, and cross-sector operational preparedness.
As part of its social responsibility, InJourney consistently prioritizes responsible celebrations. All InJourney destinations are holding New Year's Eve celebrations without fireworks displays, replacing them with a reflective agenda of communal prayer, a "moment of silence," and open fundraising for disaster-affected communities.
In the hospitality sector, InJourney Hospitality donated a portion of its 2026 New Year's Eve celebrations to help those affected by flooding in Sumatra. On New Year's Eve, InJourney Hospitality held a "Seaside Festive Symphony" at The Meru Sanur and Bali Beach Hotel, featuring an exclusive collaboration between the Erwin Gutawa Orchestra and the Indra Lesmana Jazz Experience. Interfaith prayers and a moment of silence were held during the break in the maestro's performance, followed by a moving performance of "Bumi Pertiwi." This performance created a profound and touching emotional experience for the audience.
In the Prambanan Temple area, through InJourney Destination Management (IDM), InJourney has also distributed humanitarian support to flood-affected residents in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra through the #SwaraUntukIndonesia campaign in collaboration with the Human Initiative at the Swara Prambanan music festival held on Wednesday (31/12) in the Prambanan Temple tourist park area. Although without fireworks, Swara Prambanan proceeded smoothly and full of solidarity.
In Jakarta, at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), the New Year was meaningfully commemorated through a series of reflective activities, including the Sorak Sorai Fest, a prayer service with a thousand candles, and a fundraising campaign through kitabisa.com. All funds raised were donated to help those in Sumatra facing hardship following the floods.
At Sarinah, the Festiloka Panggung Nusantara 2026 series marked the New Year with a group prayer and a "moment of silence" that received a positive response from the public and visitors.
This series emphasizes InJourney's commitment to making the New Year's Eve not just a celebration, but also a meaningful and inclusive space for togetherness.
"For InJourney, the success of the year-end holiday season is measured not only by the smooth operation of services and the high level of public enthusiasm, but also by the level of caring we can deliver together. As we close out 2025, we want to ensure that Indonesian tourism grows with heart, bringing hope and a spirit of togetherness into 2026," Maya concluded.
